About this listen

Edie's an overbearing cat behaviorist who's not big on people. Magnus is a newly rich game developer who likes to be in control. When the two of them meet at Gretchen and Hunter's masquerade engagement party, the loathing is mutual. But when Magnus' younger brother falls for Edie's sister, he begs for his brother's help in concocting a plan to win her over.

If Magnus can keep the prickly Edie occupied, his brother will have time to woo Edie's sister. Of course Magnus isn't interested in the slightest, but he has to admit that Edie is intriguing. She's stubborn, smart, and sexy - and they might have more in common than they thought. Before long it becomes a challenge between the two of them to see who will be tamed first. But how's Edie going to react when she finds out that Magnus is using her? And how's Magnus going to handle the fact that he's fallen for a cat lady?

the story was very good. characters fun and story close to home due to severe leg injury as a teen . I limp severely now at 63. I had a "unusual gait," until I entered middle age. couldn't run or dance. please limit the cursing, it isn't necessary.

doing without the F*** word

It was entertaining with good narration. I enjoyed it but the sex scenes were a little drawn out

Good story

Desperately need a new narrator. Macie's voice does not, in my opinion, suit this type of novel.

Narrator!

Someone should tell this author that you can only say the “F” word three or four hundred times in a book before it starts to lose its impact (three or four times in one sentence is just overkill).

The same applies with all the crass, dirty sex talk. I’m no prude — not by any means — but I am not sure I’ll be able to finish this book.

The Audible preview of this book made me think there would be some emphasis on cat adoption (something I am passionate about), but very little of the book is about that. There is very little plot to this story.

The woman doing the narration should definitely avoid attempting to speak as a man. She does a HORRIBLE job of it — the men don’t sound realistic when being breathy and feminine. They all sound like they need testosterone shots or something.

The first two books I read by this author (What the Hex and Go Hex Yourself) and were a bit shocking in the language and VERY graphic sex talk, but at least these two books had cute story lines.

I will probably ask Audible for a refund on this dog of a book.

WHAT WAS I THINKING???

The language is extremely coarse. Perhaps the author was going for shock value, but it came across as just unnecessarily crude. I don’t usually mind swearing, as I’ve read plenty of alpha romance including motorcycle club books, but this was cringe worthy.

The narrator was not cut out for this book. She had a sweet voice and slow pace, with far too little emotion in her delivery. If you’re going to read a book with tits, f*k, p*y, d*k, and cat lady in several sentences in a row, you’d best be prepared with some attitude. It just came across as weird.
