This comprehensive guidebook explores the unique challenges that thousands of families face every day raising a teenager who may be transgender, gender-variant, or gender-fluid. Covering extensive research and with many personal interviews, as well as years of experience working in the field, the author covers pressing concerns relating to physical and emotional development, social and school pressures, medical options, and family communications. This book is incredibly helpful for understanding what your transgender child might be going through and for understanding what it really means to be transgender. It's a wonderful resource for anyone struggling to understand a transgender or non-binary teen in their life.

This book was super informative, thorough and inspires a lot of empathy toward trans kids. Also, the narrator has a lovely accent (Irish, I think?) that made the whole thing flow very nicely.

Informative

The narrator pronounces certain vowel sounds in a way that is quite irritating. This includes the 'a' in the word 'family'. As this is a common word in this book, it is very distracting.

The core of this book is very informative for families with children who identify as non-binary or trans-gender. The listener does have to filter through a hippy-esque approach that often borders on being hokey. It is worth the effort, in order to become a more informed parent.
