About this listen

The instant New York Times bestseller!

In this twisty psychological thriller from the #1 New York Times bestselling author of THE CELLAR, Ivy wants to share everything with her twin sister . . . until her twin starts to push her out of her own life.

Ivy and Iris haven’t lived together for years—when their mother and father divorced, each parent got custody of one twin. But after a tragic accident takes their mom’s life, the devastated sisters are reunited, and Iris moves in with Ivy and their dad. Iris takes their mom’s death especially hard. She barely talks, spending hours alone in her room. Ivy can’t stand to see Iris so sad. She promised Iris that she can share her life now. After all, they’re sisters. Twins.

It’s a promise that Iris takes seriously. And before long, Ivy’s friends, her teachers, and even her boyfriend fall under Iris’s spell. Soon Ivy begins to think there’s something wrong with her twin. It’s almost like Iris is out to get her. Ivy tells herself she’s being paranoid. It’s not like she’s in any danger from her twin. . . .

The Twin is a binge-worthy listen that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the very end.

spoilers ahead!! Waited the whole book for this evil twin to get caught and the book ends with that never happening . Made me very mad
also alot more could have been done I feel.
Surely the grandparents would have known a little of what was going on if the mom suspected her daughter was ill and acting out. I kept waiting for them to reveal that they also suspected something wrong with the twin or at the very least for ivy to ask to live with them to get away from her twin. Maybe even go find her mom supposed boyfriend and ask him questions about what all happened while he was around her twin and find out more that way. Also the dad character believing evey word out of the other twins mouth when he barely knew her compared to ivy just seems unrealistic.

liked the story alot but the ending was crap

nothing

I enjoyed the story even if it did feel obvious. That seems to be the way of things in fiction though, people never see the truly obvious or seem capable of catching on to whats happening. However, I found it to be a very entertaining story. This book is worth a read.
What ruined the book was the narrator. It took half the book just to get used to her voice. It was annoying in a way that is hard to put into words and felt slightly nasally, kind of gravelly but definitely better suited for cartoon characters than book narration. She would probably excel in that field of work. The hardest part was trying to figure out what was going on between the characters. When there is a book to look at you can see what is inner monologue and what is actual character dialogue. When you are listening to a book, you have to rely on the narrator to emphasize the differences. Not only did this narrator not find a way to let me know if it was dialogue, or just something going through the protagonists head, but also every character in the book was read the same. It was difficult, especially during intense back and forth dialogue, to keep up with who was saying what. I feel like I could have enjoyed this book so much more if they had used someone who has experience with and is capable of doing different character voices in the narration. This is so important for the listener when you do not have a book in front of you.

This narrator is not good.
