Part two - days four to six. With a plan to rescue Howie's sister from London, Howie and Dave travel to Salisbury army training barracks to find an armoured personnel carrier that will see them safely through the densely populated and infected towns that lead into the capital.

Howie takes charge of a group of young army recruits they find at the barracks and leads them into battle, killing swathes of the undead. They meet Big Chris, an enigmatic former soldier who is leading a hastily erected commune in London. Joining forces they agree to help each other, going first for valuable medical equipment.

But the cost of rescuing Sarah may be too much. One of their own, Darren, has been turned...it may be the end of everything for which the group has fought.

I cannot wait to start the third book in the series, I'm Four days in and soon to be three books deep, Haywoods way of writing is mesmerizing, truly. I write this as I pace back and forth as I wait for the third book to finish downloading. I am very excited to start it and leave a real review. I can honestly say I really enjoyed the first book. The amazingly unique voice of Dan Morgan… it just all feels so visceral. I feel dirty in a way, like I’ve been out there in the apocalyptic wasteland with them these past two hours from my sofa cough. Much like The Marbury Lens by Andrew Smith. I would LOVE to see these books each done as a movie co-directed by Zack Snyder and Christopher Nolan in the style of the Spartan movie 300!!

It’s a good book, I enjoyed the first book, this one is okay as well, however I didn’t like the idea of how the infection is getting smarter and aware. Might give the third book a try but not any time soon.

I enjoyed the fact that the action was ramped up in book 2. And that the story line is still holding my attention throughout the chapters.

I love Dave he's my favorite. Howie is very funny and I love their chemistry. Cookie and Blowers remind me of siblings always going at each other. the transition from situation to situation is smooth and it really just pulls you and makes you want more.

Brilliant performance by the narrator. The author throws in a plot twist with "semi-infected" undead. I eagerly anticipate the release of the next audible versions of Haywood's work.

Let me start by saying I am harsh on books. Especially horror books. The way the characters in the book evolve keeps you very interested. The story keeps you on the edge of your seat. It is very well written. The narration is spot on. Do yourself a favor and get this book.
