About this listen

Mike Malloy’s hedge fund is more than just a money machine - it’s a weapon of insight, capable of forecasting global events with chilling accuracy.

When Mike’s proprietary software predicts an inevitable conflict between the United States and China, he faces an impossible choice: exploit the knowledge to secure unimaginable wealth, or risk everything to avert a nuclear war.

As financial markets teeter on the brink and global tensions escalate, Mike finds himself at the crossroads of ethics and ambition. With his closest allies questioning his every move and powerful enemies circling, he must decide - will he become the savior of humanity or the architect of its destruction?

In The Win Machine, Ryan McBeth delivers a gripping techno-thriller that explores the terrifying power of technology, the dangers of unchecked ambition, and the razor-thin line between profit and catastrophe. As the countdown to global annihilation ticks away, the ultimate question emerges: How far would you go to win?

Wasn’t expecting much, pleasantly surprised

First of all, I’m not a Marine but I eat crayons occasionally.
Great storyline, great narration, and fantastic twists & turns in the plot. Great first adult novel from Mr McBeth!
Thanks Ryan - looking forward to your next book!

Weird, but fun, to cheer on some hedgefund-hero

I follow the author on his YT channel for his military and geopolitical analysis, and was curious to hear that he had written a novel. The binged the audiobook easily, and was thoroughly entertained as well as intrigued by the premise. The reader did a great job as well - and I just got to say that I look forward to another novel. Big smile and best regards from Norway!

Excellent literature, great analysis

Military novels, especially science fiction ones, are usually divided to the unbelievable and the unreadable. Ryan McBeth's Win Machine, however, is neither.
this book is written with humor, sensitivity and true knowledge of military startegy, technology and life as well as of the tech industry. it is also exceptionally human in its outlook and tone- Mike, Kovel, Mohammad, Tina, even the Chinese generals feel like genuine, sympathetic human beings

i would highly reccomend the book to others.

Something fresh and different

Overall a very good thought provoking work that explores an area where the lines between science and science fiction are increasingly blurred. Computer technology is advancing rapidly and this book taps into both the fascination and fear we have about A.I. and what it means for humanity. I’m also a big fan of the author’s informative YouTube channel. He brings the same sophisticated analysis to this book that he applies to real world events on his channel.

It’s ok. Entertaining

I’m a fan of Ryan’s geopolitical
analysis. Book was fine. I can’t quite specify what was missing, but there was definitely something missing.

I was excited.

Then, as I started listening i didnt quite understand. Perhaps I was expecting something different, more realism and knowledge from the author. Instead of real world based type of fiction we stepped into alternate dimensions with hedge
fund managers with a magic 8 ball computer. I'm glad I could support the author because I believe in his assessments. Fiction of this level just wasn't expected.

feels like its half of a story

the concept is cool but the quantum stuff gets weird fast and doesn't allow enough time with any characters.
