About this listen

Daxas has reached rank eight.

He has conquered and subsumed a second dungeon increasing his power and pulled one over the Divine Lords in the process.

However, he is aware this will bring new difficulties to his door and the Divine Lords are unlikely to take their humiliation well.

He is going to need to continue his plans of expansion which now includes a second dungeon as well as an adventurer guild, the Dark Moon Rising, ready to answer his commands, well mostly ready.

There is also the not so small matter of his unfinished business with Jen'Zadeer Shadestar. She remains just out of his grasp, but not for much longer.

Another great dungeon core

I absolutely love this series. more so for maeve as she has been doing a fantastic job narrating the female parts.

Definitely worth continuing on with the series

Right out front I'm going to say that I recommend this series. I also want to briefly mention something that I noticed to anybody who's looking at the other reviews or the ratings. There are a couple of buffoons leaving negative reviews on a significant number of audio books that fall within or around this genre. If you click on the reviewer's name even if it's anonymous you can get a look at everything that they have left a review for to date. All of them are negative and yet they continue to buy and listen to these just to be trollish I guess. Titles of their reviews are as follows: average but too cliche, Meh, I hate teenager stories, too much sex in a 5 hour joint, wanted to like it but I can't, looks like the story will become bad going forward, this became absolutely boring, weak, mediocre, trashy, love the narrator but the book sucks, Meh dnf, it's hard for me to listen, annoyingly stupid, stupid as crap MC, yet another dumb F MC, not worth the time, crap, another spineless MC, and on and on. The community seems to be pretty awesome in combating this stupidity. Definitely upvote the positive stuff. For this book in particular there are some elements that seemed to draw particular ire for crossing a legal line. The thing is that one it's fiction and two the characters in this book are not good people and as such are not in a good place. If the grim dark elements are too much for you then I definitely suggest you go somewhere else for your entertainment. If you're wondering just how dark the scenes can be then I would liken it to Game of Thrones. There's one scene in particular that took place in a church that seemed to shock the hell out of most viewers, but most viewers still watched the show.

OK with that out of the way, when it comes to reviewing a sequel, I am looking for everything that made the first book worth reading and then some. The first part of the first book was a little long in explaining the world in which the story was going to take place but now that is done, we've just got awesome storytelling for the sequels. The author is relatively new, and this appears to be his first and only series. He writes under a pen name but from the explanation that I remember it was due to the fact that he loves money and power but is not so interested in fame. His explanation also included the fact that he was looking for a certain type of story and when he didn't find it decided to write the one he had been looking for. For those who may not have started reading yet, our hero is something of a loser at the beginning which is common for these kinds of books and is summoned through a portal. Through some godly legalese he ends up becoming a dungeon core and more or less has a massive chip on his shoulder for how he got screwed. The first book in my opinion more or less established him in this new world which is essentially purgatory where damn souls get a second chance. The second book has him starting to make moves on those evil deities and even the good ones who may be less than noble. The third book sees the dungeons combined and his moves to continue to add to his power in an effort to more or less get justice. He does appear to me to be influenced by his new circumstances, not all of which are positive. Of course, more women join his side in this fight, and we see him dealing with the Dwarven Guild.

As of this review only the first 3 books have been given the audio treatment narrated by a fantastic pair of performers. Seriously I've got no notes and I've enjoyed their performances considerably. Books one through three are available as an eBook omnibus and books four and five are already out in eBook form. I like the fact that for the audio books the author has the narrators reading out the afterward. Not every afterward is worth that addition but when you have an author who is communicating to the readers and listeners beyond thank you and can you leave a review, I definitely appreciate it being added onto the audio version as well. I also appreciate him adding on the enemies and rivals’ summation along with the breakdown of final stats for the characters. I'm going to put my review for book 1 below this review just in case for anybody who's new to the series. With that said, well done to everybody who had a hand in bringing this book to us, the Audible listeners and Amazon readers. I look forward to what comes next.

Book 1 Review
In the interest of time for the review reader I'll just say yeah, I recommend this series to you. This appears to be a new author, and this is the first work of his that I have picked up. The series currently has four entries with the first three books being available as an omnibus in eBook form. This is the first of the authors books to receive the audio treatment. It is dual narration, and the narration team did a fantastic job. Both narrators are relatively new to me but as this is the third book in which I've enjoyed their performance I can say that they've gone 3 for 3. The hero of the story is summoned by accident and crippled during the process. The cultists then dump him in a cesspit where he dies horribly. Through some God level legalese, he finds himself sentence to an alien version of hell with an asterisk. As a dungeon core he can have a chance at redemption, but there is a twist with the God games which is he's not the first human from his world to find himself in this position and as such the gods are against him. You see the last human from his world created a bit of a ruckus even though he ultimately failed. Side note: something unique with this series is that our hero apparently is a sex dungeon do too the alien gods rooting through our hero’s browser history. Now in regard to my personal preference I do not usually like stories where the main character is a dungeon core, but this one was not only good enough for me to complete the book but good enough for me to want to continue on with the series. Lastly, I'll just say thank you to everybody who had a hand in bringing this book to us the audio listeners.

I think this series is great

I am very happy with the pacing and character development of this series, this is a OP MC style of book but also a MC who is in constant conflict with powers he shouldn’t be able to overcome yet does so thru grit wit and determination.

lots of stats

the story and characters are good, but too many stats were given to distract from the story.

More!!! GIVE ME MORE!!!

What can I say that I haven't already said in my review of book 2? It keeps getting better and better. The most surprising bit is that Book 3 is about all the action they get into one week, just a week! I'm looking forward to whatever shenanigans they get into in the next book.

A must get!

As the third book in the series, it keeps up the great plot quality and romance between the characters. It still has its funny moments and continues to build upon the world that was set in book 1&2. I enjoyed listening to the audiobook
