About this listen

What if Robin Hood was a female assassin, with deadly powers, who not only steals from the rich and corrupt...she kills them too.

Isolde Cotheran is anything but a damsel in need of saving. By day, she is the heir to Thornwood manor and all its lands. By night, she masquerades as the Hood, a brutal outlaw who leads a cadre of thieves and assassins whose mission is simple, fight for those who cannot fight for themselves. When Isolde brutally kills a lord, it forces two men back into her life. Liam, the handsome Captain of the Guard, who was shunned from Thornwood for joining the evil king's army. And Gage, the Right Hand of the king and murderer of Isolde's first love.

After a successful heist leaves Gage humiliated and in danger of the king's wrath for failure to capture the Hood, Isolde's world is thrown into chaos. Struggling to protect those she loves not only from the dangers of the kingdom but from her own deadly power, Isolde is forced to take action when one of her own is caught in the crosshairs. Choices are made and blood is spilled, forcing the Hood to face her past. A past that is far more dangerous than even she realizes.

I need the second one.

The Narrorator did an outstanding job bringing the characters to life. The author most definitely spins a tale so thick with plot, mystery and heart ache you can't put it down.

An amazing new world!

The characters in this story are so original. As is the storyline. I’m left just KNOWING a betrayal is coming yet I’m not sure who it will be. I know just know a character or two will be unalived, but I’m not sure who it will be. And who will her mate bond be with?! I read this mostly with audiobook. Laura Horowitz is awesome as usual. I wish the next book was also audio but it’s not. Very good and highly recommended. I can’t believe there isn’t more talk about this.

Loved It!

I have read Thief of Sorrows before but decided I wanted to do a reread. When I saw that Laura Horowitz was the narrator, I knew I wanted to listen to it. Made me love the story even more.

Much more than just a retelling!

Honestly the whole "Robinhood retelling" is what suckerd me in, I wanted something different new and refreshing so imagine my shock when I find out there also is a unique magic system with element magic and animal shape-shifting...Okay I'm hooked in at thay point. Not only that the MC is not whiney is willing to kill her enemies, but is as usual a bit naive but all the good ones are right?! Also has great political intrigue and side character depth I feel attached to them all and love the bond they all have to the MC. I NEED book 2!!!

Good Story

I liked this a lot but there was something missing that I just couldn’t put my finger on.

I loved the emotion that the narrator brought to the story.

The plot keeps you holding your breath and sense of unease just waiting for the next disaster to strike. The main character’s heart always seems to be breaking, shattering, weeping. I hope she is more evolved in the next story.

Laura’s narration brought the heavy emotions to the surface and made you feel them too. Excellent performance!

No

I honestly grabbed this book because of one of the reviews. It said “i was instantly sucked in from the beginning”….. no… just no. The story jumps right in which normally im fine with but it was honestly confusing because there was no fleshing out along the way. One minute she’s super sad because someone died and it seems almost romantic but again who knows because that wasn’t fleshed out then she’s consumed with rage a few chapters later about the person who might have killed that person then there hooking up in a library… its a no for me
