Many of us dread having to convey our ideas to others, often feeling ill-equipped, anxious, and awkward. Public speaking experts help by focusing on planned communication experiences such as slide presentations, pitches, or formal talks. Yet, most of our professional and personal communication occurs in spontaneous situations that creep up on us and all too often leave us flustered and stumbling for words. Stanford lecturer, podcast host, and communication expert Matt Abrahams provides tangible, actionable skills to help even the most anxious of speakers succeed when speaking spontaneously.

Communication should be clear and concise, and we should get to the point quickly. The problem is we don’t always know how to do this. What does it mean to be concise? How can a complex topic be summarized in just a few lines? This award-winning book is a step-by-step guide for clear, concise communication in everyday work conversations. Being concise is not about trying to condense all the information into 60 seconds. It is about having clear intent, talking about one topic at a time, and focusing on solutions instead of dwelling on problems.

It was ok...
It was informative and most topics made sense however after a while it seemed as if he was just throwing in random topics like coding and a few others just to stretch the book. I was able to remain focused on the majority of the book but my mind would start to wonder once he touched on topics I felt where somewhat irrelivent yet very slightly useful.

I found this book insightful
I enjoyed the author's words and encouragement. Razr & John recommends to learn and pay attention to how we learn, additionally his encouragement to write.
My key Takeaway on this book was to take action, getting things done. Do not just get smarter but act on what you have learned. A great resource I would highly recommend you read & keep this one in the library, don't return it, revisit it, I have this book officially on my review once a month list.

Concise and well organized
Useful reminders of habits that make us more effective. It is great to see someone advocating to read more and put your electronic devices down. Yes most of this common sense but is just what most of society lacks today.

The author needs more scholarly resources to support his theories. It would help further validate his ideas. Other wise a good book for a person looking to refocus.

AN INCONGRUOUS RAMBLE
an incongruous, contradictory, ramble. The author seems to assume that the regular work-day is a mine field of mistakes, makes a sensible statement and then seems to contradict himself. A lot of words about nothing in particular.
