About this listen

It is sadly true that it is not always easy to fall asleep. This gently amusing, highly effective anthology of soporific dullness has been carefully curated to put listeners to sleep as quickly as possible. This giftable godsend for the under-rested features dozens of snoozy short texts, including "The Motion of Sand Dunes," "The Administrative Bureaucracy of the Byzantine Empire," "White Noise: A Technical Explanation," and many dozens more - though good luck listening very far on any one evening. Insomniacs will also appreciate "A Staring Contest with Fifty Cats," "Some Interesting Mathematical Theorems," "The Dullest Entries from Interesting Diaries," and other zzzzzzzz.

NGL, I passed out cold after like 30 minutes in. My pregnancy has made it very hard for me to sleep and I remember a YT short Vsause made about this book. So I tried it out. The short articles and "thought games" are fascinating but they do just make you pass out. Thank you Vsause for recommending, thank you to the narrator for have just the right tone for this book, but most of all thank you to Dr. Hardwick and K McCoy for writing this. Maybe it'll work on my future baby, since they gotta be stuck hearing this all night now 😅

This is perfect for putting you to sleep. The book is specifically written to be a boring, droning, and sleep inducing experience. It generally knocks me out within 10-15 minutes. I usually struggle for hours trying to fall asleep. Now it takes no time at all.

A glass of warm milk in book form.

Anytime I can’t sleep, listening to this book does the trick. The interesting boring stories were exactly what I was looking for!

Holy Hannah! This book ushered sleep in and sheep-counting OUT! It's sometimes hilariously funny and, at the same time, quite seriously informative about things I've never even thought about. I'd recommend it to anyone who has trouble falling asleep... but beware... as you fall asleep it's gonna make ya giggle yourself awake a few times in amusement and wonder. Maybe I'll listen to it while I'm wide awake because it's quite interesting, actually.

Yes. It will put you to sleep

This book had me on the edge of my seat the entire time! I couldn’t stop listening! Or maybe that was my dreams. I remember starting this book, and feeling unusually refreshed 8 hours later.

Thrilling!

There were subjects I found interesting and enlightening. The origin of pickles comes to mind. I liked the train trip and the section about railroad gauges.

It didn’t really put me to sleep, but it provided a distraction from my own anxiety and amused me many times.

Every single time brov, without fail, this book puts me to sleep. ten outta ten, would recommend.

it does.

this book kept me awake more than others that I use for the purpose simply because it changes subjects too much. if read for 10 minutes from the same droningly academic paper that would have been much better. I have no idea why they chose to bounce around. Good idea but poorly executed.

I didn't like this one damn bit. They were moments when I thought it might have been approaching what I wanted in terms of verbal white noise, but those moments were short-lived and it quickly veered into stupidity and campily staged faux boringness. it was like a bunch of nudging and winking on the part of the Creator's, downright annoying. Honestly, I thought this was sleazy garbage, and it left me annoyed rather than sleepy.

More "Annoying" than "Sleep Inducing"
