awesome story 👧🐉🐅🧙

(Ray & Xandria): TRIGGERS: sexual assault, child neglect. Wow, what a concept. I really freaking loved this book. I would've loved it more if it were longer than a four hour long audio. Xandria is the middle child in a family of mages. She's the only one without powers. Her parents basically treat her like a maid and show her absolutely no love. She uses the forest for her escape from the home daily. That is where she finds "Claws" a white tiger cub who was injured and left by his mom. After a while they developed a bond. Then the story gets really good, she meets a dragon shifter and becomes friends with her. Ray is King of the dragons. The elders want him to have a queen so they set up claiming trials where all the single female dragon shifters fight for a chance to be queen. When he's asked to save Xandria, there's an immediate connection between them and they aren't sure why. I loved that the females are just as badass as the males. I also love the little plot twists that the author continues to throw into the story. Claws is an amazing addition to the story, he's almost pet-like but still very wild. Xandrie is never treated differently by the king and the royal guard. It's a close burn but when it does heat up it's like someone set off some TNT. This is my first time with this author but definitely will not be my last.

x

I think I made a mistake listening to this in audio format. The narrator was quite good, so that was not a problem. I struggled with trying to find my way through some confusing plot points. I waited to figure them out, finally simply dismissing them as the story continued without them. I kept thinking this was a prologue type of novella for a series. When I checked out this idea, I was correct as there are three other books already published in the series. All the needful checking and dismissing items throughout the story left me irritated rather than being able to simply fall into a fantasy with dragons and romance and bad people receiving appropriate karma. Yep, I should have read the book. Beyond this, I thoroughly enjoyed May Sage so a four rating for May's creative ability (and some snark) with a narrator who had fun with all the characters voices.

better then expected

I really enjoyed this audiobook. The romance as well as the ending was a bit rushed in my opinion other than that not a pretty good listen.

Dragons and mages and tigers oh my

I enjoyed this slow burn magic filled book! I am still wondering what the elves in the beginning had to do with it? We’re they ghost? I loved that the FMC sisters were on her side because she needed some family, even thou her found family was quite amazing!

A great short book!

Plenty of action and romance with some spicey scenes with the H and h. I like longer written books normally but this was really good!

Great Book

New fan, enjoyed listening to this book was very well read and entertaining, if you are a fan of dragons and magic I would definitely recommend, it reminded me of Eragon but only in minor ways, it sets itself apart and is definitely a new favorite.

Better than expected!

The writing was just perfect, as was the narration from the audible. I really enjoyed the story telling, and although it was a short read, it never once lost me. I loved all the descriptions, nothing was ever too wordy or gaudy.

The surprising add-ins of humor were a great touch. I love when something serious can make me chuckle.

Overall a great read, definitely worth giving the second book a try!
