Publisher's summary

No one is more surprised than Lord North when he returns from war to find his ex-fiancee in his ancestral home...working as a governess in a sexy, fiery new Wildes of Lindow Castle romance by New York Times best-selling author Eloisa James...

The handsome, rakish heir to a dukedom, Lord Roland Northbridge Wilde - known to his friends as North - left England two years ago after being jilted by Miss Diana Belgrave. He returns from war to find that he’s notorious: polite society has ruled him “too wild to wed”.

Diana never meant to tarnish North’s reputation or his heart, but in her rush to save a helpless child, there was no time to consider the consequences of working as a governess in Lindow Castle. Now everyone has drawn the worst conclusions about the child’s father, and Diana is left with bittersweet regret.

When North makes it clear that he still wants her for his own, scandal or no, Diana has to fight to keep from losing her heart to the man whom she still has no intention of marrying.

Yet North is returning a hardened warrior - and this is one battle he’s determined to win.

He wants Diana, and he’ll risk everything to call her his own.

Really odd but likable characters

The story opens on 7/6/1778 with the engagement party for Lady Diana Belgrave and Lord Roland Northbridge Wilde. Right before she runs away.
I like North and Diana very much, but some of the stuff she pulls puts her in the TSTL category. That’s Too Stupid To Live, to save time. Also, the way she mishandles situations with the children would not be tolerated by other caring adults. This takes away from the story and relationship. I know I’ve mentioned massive plot holes in past reviews…and yet, the characters are so likable.
Duerden does a decent enough job with narration.
Provisional recommend.

A Wilde Romp at Lindow Castle

I loved it! I laughed out loud so many times my friends looked at me like I had lost my mind and I laughed again! There were times that also garnered a tear of two. I am so in love with these Wilde heros I can't wait for the next one. I also enjoy Susan Duerden's narration. Sometimes female narrators make no difference in the tones of female and male characters but I really enjoyed this narration. North sounded very breathy and sensual, easily distinguished from Diana or the other feminine characters. Definitely recommending Too Wilde to Wed and looking forward to the next book in the series.

This book was just tedious

I really like Eloisa James but I did not like Diana. She was just silly. In my opinion it would have been better had North chosen another woman. She just did not make any sense to me. She let him take her virginity but did not want to marry him because he would be a duke. I found myself fast-forwarding to the end and the point.
I am hopeful that Lavina's story will be better than this one.

As usual Susan Duerden was easy to listen to.

Magic

Between Eloisa James and her talent with writing and Susan Duerden’s magic with words this tale had me falling in love.
It was a take me as I am tale. It has enough realism’s and fairy tale that you knew it wasn’t real but could see it happening
Unfortunately this book was again over far to quickly making you want to crawl into the authors head to learn more, do it again or just something other than banging down the door asking for more.

Lots of funny scenes!

I thought the female was a little stupid, but I get it! She seemed to have a I don’t need anyone’s help attitude, but not the mind to pull it off. She was naive about the way the world works. But there were lots of things that made you laugh.

Absolutely Fantastic

This is a fantastic story. Eloisa James delivers a perfectly fitting story for North and Diana. These characters have plenty to sort out before finding their HEA . It is so worth the effort. Their chemistry is off the chart. The story flows and I love getting to know more about this Wilde family and friends. Susan Duerden's voice adds so much to this tail, I can't imagine not listening to this story. It is a must listen for any historical romance lover.

Wild for the Wildes

Excellent (and more gripping) sequel in what I hope is a long series. Well developed characters that are both interesting and endearing.
