About this listen

Claire Nichols endured the consequences of Anthony Rawlings' vendetta. When she first arrived at his home, her goal was survival. Through strength and compartmentalization, Claire captivated her captor. Her resilience in the face of his rule threatened Anthony's well developed plan. He thought he taught her to behave - but domination became desire and Claire taught Tony to love. Their passion and adoration in a world of opulence appeared perfect, yet the reality was a rollercoaster of emotion. Claire's world teetered on the edge of sanity as Antony monitored her every move. When given the opportunity to flee, Claire drove away - a fateful decision which began a well laid plan. Unbeknownst to either of them, there were others who saw past the perfect facade of Anthony Rawlings. There were others who saw the truth.

Conspiracy and unfulfilled promises result in an early prison release for Claire. Not just a release - a pardon. According to the law, her crime never happened! Will it be that easy? Faced with freedom from her past - can Claire seize it? Can she build a new life, mend her broken spirit, become the woman she once was, and seek her own revenge? Or is it all a game? And does the game master have different plans? How does Sophia Burke fit into the puzzle that is Tony and Claire? Will her presence affect the future of this well esteemed man? Can he dominate twice? Is that his goal?

Truth continues the tumultuous saga of Consequences, introduces new players, and uncovers more intrigue. Aleatha Romig skillfully weaves past transgressions through current deception to create a fervent world of obsessed desire. In this reality, can an all-consuming relationship survive? When buried sins are discovered they threaten not only Tony and Claire's future - but their very lives! Will the truth be revealed in time?

too confusing!

the story is some what confusing, and I feel like the Claire and tony are going through way to much to finally be together, they should have made the baby Harry's.

This was so good! I've been listening for hours unable to put it down. Lots of twists and turns and can't wait to listen to the next book in the series.

Incredibly addicting series

This entire series was fantastic and the narrators were both great. I especially loved the "Tony" POV, thoughts and experiences though his eyes. Sebastian York as always did a superb job and without the insight to Tony's thoughts and Sebastian's voice , I would have disliked Tony's character very much.

Geez

What did you like best about this story?

I liked Harry a lot.

What about Romy Nordlinger’s performance did you like?

I liked Romy's voice, made the story easy for me to follow.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, breaks are definitely needed for a book like this.

Any additional comments?

Truth wasn’t as crazy for me but there were still some WTF moments for me. Claire honestly frustrated the mess out of me a couple of times. I loved her resolve for awhile and all the new happenings that were going on in her life but after one night it was all gone. I understand the reasons but I still didn’t like it. I loved Harry, Amber and Courtney and how supportive they were for her. I did not like how Claire changed and I don’t blame Emily and John for being the way they were.
I really liked the couple of twist. I’d had my ideas about some things and once they were confirmed everything kind of fell into place. There were a couple of times I didn’t know who I should trust and that made things a lot more interesting.
I still don’t like Tony. The soft spot I almost gained for him went out the window rather quickly. I’m curious about what’s going to happen next with everyone; hopefully Convicted will be another good one.

Disappointing 2nd Book

This review is for those who red the first book Consequences!!

The beginning of this book was very good, I was surprised with its beginning and really liked it. In my opinion thought, Truth started in a high point and it kept on falling falling and a low low point... Claire was very strong in the end of Consequences and in Truth.. But I was highly disappointed by her and her emotions, I reached a point where I was saying: "Are you freaking Kidding me!!!!!"...

Aleatha Romig did a good job with Consequences.. But Truth could have been really much better!! I didn't expect Truth to be like this and honestly its ending was a bit confusing!!! Really confusing!!!

I have started reading the 3rd book already wanting to know how this whole story would end like, and its interesting so far to be honest!!! Go through this book if you want to learn how it all ends!!!

But if I came back to read this series again, I will skip this book!!!

Tables Turned or Are They?

+ Truth: Consequences, Book 2

Claire Nichols meets a charming man while bartending. Against all of her rules, she takes him up on his offer for dinner. She awakes to Hell… Kidnapped, assaulted and violated in every way by a cold man. He, Anthony Rawlings, a successful, very wealthy man has holdings all over the world but now his focus is on Claire. To survive, Claire learns that she must follow his rules. Each decision has a consequence, it can be good or it can be very, very bad.

I urge you to read the publisher's summary, on each book, for more details, as I'm afraid adding to it may it inadvertently reveal spoilers.

This psychological thriller has been sitting in my library for a few years, I purchased it when it was on sale and tried to pick up the rest of the series under the same circumstances (I ended up with 3 of the 8 books available at this time – 2017.) Finally, I decided to listen to Book 1 to see if it would draw me in. It DID and I was hooked. I devoured the whole series back to back – it took the better part of my Christmas holiday and then some. These are long books and I don't feel that a moment was wasted.

This is my 1st experience with narrator Romy Nordlinger and she is excellent. Consequences: Consequences, Books 1, 2, 3 and 5 are told from Claire's point of view (POV) and Nordlinger delivers. 5 stars

Credit worthy? YES, yes, yes!

Notations: some strong language, violence and (not graphic) allusions of sexual situations

Some truth is revealed

4.5* Yes I need to read Convicted to know if I'm wrong about the *

Another audible edition for me, I do have the kindle edition too but I'm that kind of audio book freak fan.

I had some trouble with the narrator, the first book but now I'm used to her voice and I think she mastered Tony's authoritarian demanding sounds to perfection! I'll never forget, It's a love and hate thing, I thought I never hated something or someone, but Listening to this

Just ended the book and now what the hell is wrong with me, I'm feeling sad, it's just like you saw a great movie you were waiting for a long time and now it's over and you're going home trying to fill the void and struggling to understand the story and match all the pieces of the puzzle.

I have to admit the author's crafty ability to write this story, developing such a complete, rich group of characters and a clever twisting plot! This I won't forget either. They all came live to me like a motion picture.

I know that Aleatha Romig's work has mix feelings around this readers world, but isn't that a brilliant amazing work when it makes you feel guilty when you find out that a character you hated now you like it a little bit even though you wanted to hated him again? when did that happen? When you feel all this emotions, isn't this a great reading/listening experience?

I recommend to listen to the audio book version if you think the story is to long, it's worth it!

Anthony, I can forget what you did and I can't forgive either. I now realize or did really soon (I'm a very perceptive person and clever too you know :)) someone else was pulling the strings, but every action was done by you. The supposed "dream" Claire had ... You had to learn to care, you're a smart man, what was that? But you were true, actions have consequences even for you... I knew your pain and desire to change, you turn Claire's world around but your world was spinning too! How's that turning for you? She learned from you and plays the game and handles all the twists and turns to perfection, you're fault!

So much is reveal in Truth! I'm guessing it's just the beginning, maybe the middle... This book definitely made my head spin and sometimes a lump in my throat. I was thinking some breaks would occur, I needed some time, but I was to much curious, I couldn't get away!
It left me anticipating!

So Convince me!

Good series

I've had the pleasure of reading/listening to the main 3 books in this series and although a little long I really liked them. I can't say that I would take as many hours and re-read or listen again but surely am not going to delete them. It took a minutes to get used to the voices reading. But good book.

Always Listen to the Narrator FIRST!

The POV of this bookis that of a 26 year old woman, so I was shocked to hear the narrator of this book sound like a 60 year old woman who has smoked for 40 of those years? I was so disappointed and had to stop listening after about 20 minutes.

Narrator

Again, I don't know what you were thinking with this narrator. Every time she hits that high note to tell the tale, I just cringe.!!!!
