About this listen

An intense tale of success and betrayal, Under Cover of Darkness is a frightening look into the darker side of the human psyche. Gus Wheatley is the youngest lawyer ever to grab the helm of Seattle's most prominent law firm. Nothing can interfere with his meteoric rise to the top, until his wife, Beth, vanishes. Her disappearance comes just as FBI profilers are called in to examine a bizarre and emerging pattern of brutal serial murders that rocks Seattle: first two men killed, then two women. The victims are unrelated, yet within each pairing, the one killing mirrors the other in chilling detail. But this is just the beginning of the nightmare for Gus. Seattle police fashion a theory that leaves two horrifying possibilities: either Beth is the killer's latest victim or she is his willing accomplice. As Gus begins to unravel the truth about the woman he thought he knew, he fears that for him and his family evil is far too close to home.©2000 by James Grippando (P)2000 HarperCollins Publishers, Inc., All Rights Reserved Action & Adventure Mystery Mystery, Thriller & Suspense Suspense Thriller & Suspense Scary

Love all Grippando's books but this one of the best . The story was electric and the characters believable . Even the sick world that we live in can give the reader a chance to be part of a story that will keep us looking back every time we walk a dark road or sidewalk. Yummy suspense!

the first half is well done, but the second half is twice as long as it need to be. He's good at suspense, and I'm thankful no one added "suspencefull" music. Kill all music on audiobooks!!

suspense but.....
