Good to know I'm not alone
There is so much pressure to perform, sometimes it can be crushing. It's good to know I'm not alone and there are actually a lot of athletes who can perform at a high level physically but are struggling mentally. This book was helpful to learn that not only does this happen to a lot of athletes, but this book also has solid advice for how to overcome it.

Mental strength is everything
Whenever I'm in the middle of a hard workout or run, I always relate this one mantra "The mind quits before the body." We often think we're training physically, but our bodies can push further than we even realize; it's the mind that gives up. This audiobook does a great job of illustrating the importance of mental toughness and how to strengthen yours. Especially for a young athlete in such competitive times, the mental edge can make you stand apart from your peers. Highly recommend.

Great for high performance people
Having high standards comes with its own challenges. Measuring oneself against the peers one has to compete against, as well as social media, can make athletes who cannot be tolerant of their own mistakes feel inhibited, drained, and anxious. This audiobook provides basic methods, such as visualization, goal setting, and meditation and breath work, to help high performance individuals who have to keep high standards. It looks at challenges many of us don't see.

Go for it!
Even though this book is supposedly targeted to young atheletes, I found it helpful for me and I’m in my late 50s. This book is part instruction manual and part inspiration! What a helpful resource for overcoming the anxiety associated with training. I also loved the visualization techniques for seeing myself complete goals before they happen. What a perfect mantra, “The mind quits before the body”. I’ve learned to repeat this mantra as I’m in a stressful workout. Thank you for creating this wonderful resource!

Bought for my Son
I got this for my kid, who just had to venture outside of his comfort zone after being accepted into a basketball academy.
The fact that it is written from the perspective of a youngster or adolescent and not just an adult giving advice appeals to me. Excellently written and simple to read.

Great book
A very good book on mental strength for young athletes. Being interested in the topic myself, I thoroughly enjoyed it. Discusses well how common mental health issues can be, even among elite athletes. Gives valuable tools on how to rewire your thinking, increase mental toughness and confidence, cope with pressure and find balance in life. I can definitely recommend this book to budding athletes.

Winning the mental game!
I can't say enough good things about this audiobook. For one, having the right mindset is half the battle in professional-level sports. I play Tennis recreationally, and mindset is only second to physical aptitude. My favorite part of this audiobook had to be the goal-setting chapter. It was something I was able to start immediately after listening.
Don't sleep on improving your mental game, buy this audiobook!

Every athlete needs this!
As a former athlete and Track and Field coach, I know first-hand how athletes can prepare physically to compete but underprepare mentally. An athlete’s strength is more mental, than physical and for this reason, it is an easy way to suffer from performance anxiety. I love Ch. 7 Visualization because it was something I could have benefited from and shared with my athletes! For an athlete to picture themselves performing at their best and achieving their goals before it happens, helps their mental strength to be a synergistic effect with their physical strength.
