About this listen

When two childhood best friends blow up their respective romantic relationships, they make a time-sensitive pact: serial-cheater Chuck cannot sleep with anyone as she attends a three-month-long recovery group for cheaters, while sex-deprived Sofia vows to hook up with as many people as possible before recommitting to monogamy and tying the knot with her long-time fiancé.

To keep things interesting, Chuck and Sofia decide to revive a past tradition from their summer camp days—also known as the dawning of sluthood. Just as when they were tweens, they must report back to each other with every juicy detail of their vivid and salacious exploits.

As the pact brings their friendship closer than ever, their intimacy with one another becomes both uplifting and debilitating. As wounds, misbehaviors, and co-dependencies surface, Chuck and Sofia must navigate blurred boundaries in order to help each other rediscover themselves at a pivotal moment.

I listened to this on my walks, and gals were such great company. The more I listened, the more I loved these great, but also flawed characters.

An adventure in self discovery

From excellent sound design with an immersive story about two young women who were childhood friends reconnect and make a pact. One to explore her sexual needs the other to abstain. Such a fun story with some great laugh out loud moments. Would love to listen to more fun stories like this!

If you love stories of complex female friendship this show is for you!!!

I feel like I am always looking for stories like this and never finding them. Very Unbecoming does whatever the opposite of not passing the Bechdel test is. Truly a story about two women figuring out their love and sex lives in parallel, but where the main relationship is with each other. my female friendships are some of the most important in my life, and I rarely find art that captures so perfectly how complicated, thorny, epic and ultimately beautiful those bonds can be. It’s also hilarious and filled with really great performances!! Five stars for sure and hope to see more from these two creators.

Dnf

I can’t handle ASMR, and unexpectedly this has a lot. The girl who does it also has mannerisms that made it impossible to listen on. The story was interesting and while I am curious about the rest, the second smacking, crunching episode drew the line.

Very Unbecoming is brilliant and thoughtfully written, and the production was about the best I have heard. I laughed out loud so frequently. Underneath it all is a fun, beautiful story. Looking for more productions by Fresh Produce!
