About this listen

The sins of Adam Hardesty's past have been discovered. And if he does not hunt down his blackmailer quickly, his secrets will be revealed to all.

...But there is an obstacle in his way: sensation novelist Caroline Fordyce. She knows that Adam's quest for justice could shatter her own reputation - and mire her family in lethal scandal. And she fears what he may find. Together they will navigate the shadow side of London, venturing into an underworld of cutthroats, connivers, and illusionists. And as the mystery grows ever deeper and the danger circles ever closer, they must guard not only their secrets but their lives....

In this genre; loved it

author is skilled at story telling and I love that this story, turns its head on the societal insanity towards women. I adore both the main characters and am so pleased that the villian although evil intentioned, was pitiable.

Another hit by Amanda Quick.

Admittedly many of Amanda Quicks books are similar, I have been a fan since I was younger. This one was a good one. It was fun when he got disgruntled about being described as the villain. The narrator made it a bit harder to get into the story.

Psychic mystery romance

Another typical Amanda Quick romance, with a paranormal type story. This is a lot like the arcane society novels by the same author except this one is set in Regency times.
There is a mystery plot with the two main characters meeting originally over a scandal and a murder.

Slow start but finished strong..

I liked both main characters... heroine was smart and sassy ...I liked the story with-in a story and the startling twist of the villian.

Don't like narrator.

story is reasonably entertaining. The narrator gave everyone irratating voices. At one point, I had to force myself to finish listening.

Good but...

The book is very funny in parts. The complications of the relationships are well developed and presented. This makes the mystery engaging.

The romance is... OK. The FMC is annoying, though. Her sometimes dizzy act detracts from her like-ability.

A good read! Amanda never fails to deliver!

Workable story and interesting characters, suspiciously clever and not too unfollowable a plot. Couldnt wait to get to the end!

Engaging story

I love Amanda Quick's novels. She manages to write strong female characters who live in historical settings. This book is no exception.
