This spectacular romantic novel unveils a tantalizing tale of a legendary knight, a headstrong lady, and a quest for an ancient crystal. To find the mystical Stone of Scarcliffe, Sir Hugh needs the assistance of Lady Alice of Lingwood, a flame-haired beauty with a dazzling intellect. Together, Hugh and Alice begin a dangerous adventure that brings them more than they expect: murder, deception, and the possibility of lasting love.

Phenomenal Story

The reader is one of my new favorites. She has amazing vocal variety. You can clearly hear her when she does a stage whisper, as when she uses loud volume, but never screeches. She does male voices as well as female. I am highly impressed with her and plan to search out other audible stories with her as the narrator.
Spectacular romance

In my opinion Amanda Quik's classic stories are her best work; although I find her current works nice I love her classic stories.
For me this was like visiting an old friend!

What made the experience of listening to Mystique the most enjoyable?
The characters are so well developed and the narrator is excellent. I have listened to this book at least 30 times and i'm listening to it right now. What did you like best about this story?
I just love the heroine and hero and the interaction between them. I love the way the hero respects his lady and stands up for her to all. What about Barbara Rosenblat’s performance did you like?
Everything! I don't think I'd like the book if I read it. It's her characters that make it excellent.Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
Mostly the dry humor of the dark knight and the way he reacts to the antics of those around him. It isn't a comedy but there are enough humerous responses to keep me coming back.Any additional comments?
I think of myself as a fairly intelligent person but this book, named Mistique with characters like Hugh the Relentless, the bringer of storms, places like Rivenhall Manor and the fact it is a romance of the highest water has me in it's thrall. So wonderful!!Favorite book of all time
