About this listen

Everything has led to this moment. The battle for our world has arrived...

Once considered the academy’s most promising hero, Tristan Davids has succumbed to the darkness. After reuniting with his grandfather and siding with the forces of the Legion, Tristan has become one of the most dangerous metamorphs the world has ever known.

Now, it’s up to Gabriel and his friends to take down the maniacal Captain Thunder and save Tristan from the influence of his malevolent new powers. Sacrifices will be made, lives will be lost, and alliances will be broken as the team prepares to go to war against the greatest threat they’ve ever faced: Tristan himself.

Will Gabriel and the academy find a way to save mankind before it’s too late, or will the Legion succeed in unleashing the Deus Accelerator upon the world? The prophecy will be fulfilled as the War of the Deus finally ignites in this thrilling conclusion to the Metamorphs series.

War of the Deus is the final book in the epic four-part series. If you enjoy high-stakes adventure, explosive action, and heartbreaking drama, then you’ll love the last installment in Yuri Jean-Baptiste’s sensational series.

This voice actor.

What is up with this voice actor choosing to do inaccurate and inconsistent accents? And why did no one stop him and/or suggest a different voice, accent, approach? What is up with the awkward stammers and pauses being left in all over the place? What is up with all the mispronounced words left in? What is up with the seemingly constant moments where he sounds like he lost his place in what he was reading? What is up with the weird delivery of certain lines that don't align with the situation or are not appropriate for the apparent emotion as written? It sounded like he was reading it for the first time, didn't rehearse and no one suggested a dover? What is up with continuing to use this voice actor at all? He wasn't great last time and isn't great this time either.

On second thought, should all the blame be placed on the actor or should it be on the director who didn't have him redo those moments? Should it be blamed on the editor who didn't fix these gaffs? Was the goal to just get the audiobook done and move on? It could have been so much better. I love the book series. The author did great. The voice acting was driving me nuts the whole time.

As someone who has a few friends in the stage acting, screen acting, and voice acting fields, I am very disappointed in this final product. Silly mistakes that should have been noticed and fixed. If nothing else, the actor could have suggested do-overs, maybe? Was the deal that they could only allow a certain quota of mistakes to be corrected? Just disappointed and bothered.

The narrator!

The narrator’s voiceover was again horrible and made it difficult to get through the story.
