Publisher's summary

Deep in the heart of the Cloud Forest, a baby girl is born - Mila Tzofia Ferro. In the same place, an exceptional gift was entrusted to an ancient group of people called Sachapuyo, the Cloud Warriors. While Mila’s life leads her away from Amazonas, she will inevitably be drawn back to the Cloud Forest and its secret. But first, Mila must confront her own.

The Norfolks - a family of powerful pharmaceutical tycoons - attempt to procure an archaeological artifact found in French Polynesia. As this remnant from the Cloud Warriors resurfaces, a chain reaction is set off, and Mila understands she must come to terms with her roots, the reason for her unusual upbringing, and her unique abilities in order to fight alongside the people she loves.

Everything an Adventure Book Needs

The protagonist is easily likable, and she has many amazing skills that keep the reader entertained and wondering about what is to come. Additionally, this is one of the first representations that I have seen of Mayan/Amazonian culture that does not poke fun at it or make it seem distant. It offers a unique cultural perspective and emphasizes the ideas of friendship and love, all while keeping the plot rich with mystery, action, and adventure.

Wonderful audiobook experience!

Having the book in audio format gave the story new life! This is a story I have read and loved before, but it felt like I was transported to Mila’s world for the first time again, seeing it with new eyes. The accents for the cast of characters were all wonderful, the narrator did a great job keeping voices clear and distinct. Much love for this story and this format of telling it! - Reagan A.

Vivid, Dramatic, and Emotionally Engaging

Warriors of the Sacred Garden is an emotionally rich exploration of a young woman’s journey of discovery amidst harrowing encounters and weighty interpersonal battles. Many may relate to Mila’s internal struggle when the protagonist’s thirst for knowledge and adventure compels her to decide whether her character should be defined by strength or peace. The prose is elegant and engrossing. Vivid descriptions of diverse cultural regions incite a desire to travel and absorb the history of ancient civilizations. Among other places, Landa sets Mila’s odyssey against busy Italian streets, colorful Peruvian jungles, and historic Israeli hillsides. Themes of self-sacrifice, dedication to family, and tender romance combine in this dramatic and engaging novel that will leave readers eagerly awaiting the story’s resolution.
