Personally, I thought the story stunk if it wasn’t for this amazing narrator and her enthusiasm in the way she just made things more exciting I would’ve fell asleep or not finished the book. It was so much stuff in there that didn’t need to be there and it made it kind of boring. I did like the ending though

I liked this enough to search for book 2 ( not available yet)

Family, end of world, dealing with human scum. The dad seemingly had them prepare for it their entire life monsters & all ! Lone survivor brings the fight to them!

Little quirks with writing though! Heroine talking to partner we must go save her ….. uhhh people typically say “ we have to go save her” these are sprinkled throughout!! Its not how people talk in everyday life .!

What Lurks in the Shadows, by S.C. Shannon, is a terrifying realistic story of a post apocalyptic world. Our heroine, Grace Baker, is girl in her twenties, still trying to find herself, when her country is bombarded. Despite everything, for awhile, Grace is one of the lucky ones, she and her family got away just in time. However, their luck is running out and something horrific is hunting humans. Will they survive the end of the world?
The narrator did a wonderful job in this audio version. Some parts were really scary! I found the story a bit repetitive in the middle, but the final chapters had a very good pace. Definitely worth the time ;)
