Kristen did it again with Skyla and Beckett! Their story was a quick and exciting read to hit the spot if you’re looking for a romantic suspense read. I was on the edge of my seat so much. The found family was awesome, but the friend group with the ladies is so fun. I most definitely want to join their book club. We were gifted wonderful cameos from previous couples and couples to come. Definitely check this one out!

This one had my bookish heart!! I love when books mention favorite authors & books! This is book two of the Blackwells of Montana, but can be read as a complete standalone. This one is about Beckett Blackwell, who is a complete goner for the gorgeous redhead with a big black dog that accompanies her around town. That gorgeous redhead is our heroine Skyla, who has left her New York life & her career as a prima ballerina, after an injury. She is also in hiding from an obsessive man, that couldn’t take no as an answer. Beckett has to work for that first date, but that first date ends up being 15 hours long & one for the books (literally)! Beckett is the absolute sweetest man and just wants to take care of Skyla & give her safe haven. He is the definition of a book boyfriend! Skyla is resistant at first, due to her past, but Beckett is a patient man. This book was a reader’s dream & I can’t wait for the next one!!

I knew from the start of this book I would be hooked as soon as I started it. I wanted to make sure I had to time to listen to it all the way through. Kristen brings the perfect mix of suspense, steam, love, and big family in a small town. I loved the way theu story made me feel while reading it.

When I say you will swoon over Beckett, I hope you are ready for it! This man takes the cake for all the things he does for Skyla! The way he cares for her is so sweet.
Skyla is trying to find a place in the small town she has moved to. She has made friends and caught the eye of her friend's brother. I adore her for her personality. She has such a kind heart.

This audio quickly became a favorite listen!! Connor Crais and Stephanie Nemeth-Parker are amazing with this one. They had great accents that they did very well through the entire book! Connor was perfect for Beckett in all ways. Stephanie captures the emotions very well for Skyla and all that she goes through during this book.

I am already invested in this series, and I can't wait for more...

The Blackwells of Montana are quickly becoming my favorite Kristen Proby world- dreamy heroes, breathtaking character chemistry, and the best family vibes. I’m always charmed and swept away in the romantic magic. But When We Break may be one of my all time fav Kristen Proby stories. It’s heart-filling and sweet, character driven, effortlessly swoony, and endlessly romantic. From the best meet cute to the butterfly inducing HEA, this one endeared me from start to finish. It’s the perfect cozy and tender romance with just the right splash of romantic suspense to keep the pages turning.

I’ve been SO excited for Skyla’s story- and Kristen did NOT disappoint. Skyla, an Irish prima ballerina who recently suffered a career ending injury and some major drama, fled to to beautiful Bitterroot Valley to escape a bad situation and a lot of emotional trauma. She has an instant connection with delicious rancher Beckett Blackwell. A connection that feels like a spark that blossoms into something more substantial and meaningful. Their is a natural deepening of their dynamic and chemistry that feels intense but also so genuine.

I adored Skyla- she’s such a lovable heroine you easily fall for and root for. She’s been through a lot, but she’s a survivor. She’s still sweet and kind, full of warmth and tenderness. She’s the perfect balance of graceful vulnerability and resolved strength. And Beckett- I mean HOLY SWOONY BOOK BOYFRIEND DREAMBOAT. He’s protective, emotionally available, understanding and loyal. He’s a steady and safe space for Skyla- the emotional (and physical) security she’s needed. And he’s a man of small actions that mean BIG THINGS. Standing up for her? Reading to her? Caring for her hair? He shows care and love so beautifully, and it gives their dynamic a lot of intimacy that squeezes the heart.

The stalker suspense element brings them even closer together and keeps the pages turning- I loved the narrative choice of having some POV from that perspective. It really ramped up the tension. And of course we also have some great secondary cast characters playing the perfect role- from the Blackwells to scene stealing Connor (Skyla’s brother)


And oh my goodness the audio is also FANTASTIC! Kristen’s audios have truly been phenomenal for her Montana world, but this may be my favorite narration yet. Stephanie Stephanie Németh-Parker and Connor Crais in dual narration are spot on as Skyla and Beckett. Stephanie is a new to me narrator but her Irish accent is the perfect Skyla. She delivers a performance that is emotionally nuanced and full of vulnerability and heart. And Connor Crais never misses- of course he brings the delicious growly protectiveness of Beckett but also his tenderness and care- SWOON. And both do a fantastic job with the various different accents and voices they portray- truly an immersive listening experience.

Truly one of Kristen’s best - this one captured my whole heart.

this story was so good Not only was the story so good the narration was perfect the Irish accent something about the Irish accent just blew it out of the water it just made it so good. both the male and female narrator did such an outstanding job with this performance but the story itself was phenomenal I love the stalker story it it just made it different than what I was thinking it was going to happen I mean we're talking Montana here so who could think of a stalker but stalkers happen everywhere so it had all kinds of feels it was very sexy it was just really good I highly recommend

The Blackwells of Montana is a great series starting with Beckett, a successful dairy farmer and Sklya Gallagher, an ex-prima ballerina. She has moved to Bitterroot Valley to escape a stalker. She has a huge support/guard dog, Riley. Beckett is enamored with Sklya but she doesn't trust her feelings because of the stalker, even though she likes Beckett, too. Eventually, she does go on a date. When Beckett finds out about the stalker, he tells her that he'll protect her. He's so thoughtful and fixes his truck so Riley can ride in it and also buys everything the dog needs for his house, too. What will happen when the stalker finds her? This book has everything - romance and suspense. Connor Crais and Stephanie Nemeth-Parker are fantastic narrators with the accents that are perfect.

And all spicy scenes in Connor's voice, so worth it.
Can't wait for book #3 and MAN I hope Connor is back with an Irish accent (Epilogue).
