About this listen

Third in the Star Quartet from #1 New York Times bestselling author Catherine Coulter.

Brent Hammond is as handsome as sin and wilder than an unbroken stallion. When he meets Byrony by chance, he's charmed. But when he sees her again, as the petted wife of an older rich man, he's chagrined. Until her life is threatened—and he discovers that only he can protect her...

Interesting storyline but......

There is so much going on in this book, story developed very quickly and kept me on the edge almost until the end. However, level of physical and emotional abuse is off the charts here (especially after they arrive at the plantation).
Brent is first class jerk with tons of emotional issues and commitment phobia, if he was just a little bit nicer to Byrony, the book would have a five star rating from me.

Difficult to listen to...

I agree with the other reviewer. HOW could she, "love" this man? He's rude and treats her like a servant. The romance scenes are cringeworthy.

The narrator causes Byrony to sound like a 12-year old child at all times.

I cannot recommend this one. I didn't finish it. It hurt my feminist soul too much.
