About this listen

Motherless and raised alongside her brothers, Alanah, a Canaanite, is no stranger to fighting. When her father and brothers are killed in battle with the Hebrews, she disguises herself and sneaks onto the battlefield to avenge her family. The one thing she never counted on was surviving.

Tobiah, a Hebrew warrior, has spent his share of time on the battlefield and is shocked to find an unconscious woman among the casualties. Compelled to bring her to a healer back at the Hebrew camp, he's unprepared for the consequences of what he intended as an act of compassion.

In order to survive, Alanah must unite with her enemy. But will a terrible revelation drive her toward an even greater danger?

Good Read

A great story. I esapecially liked the way they surprised you by tying Rahab's into the plot. However, since it was the third and final sequel to the story, I was disappointed the author did not included the characters who were in the first two stories which would have tied everything together very nicely. Over all a great read. I will read it again and again.

Brings the Bible to Life

This is clearly a fictional story but set in a time that the Israelites were preparing and entering the promised land. The two perspectives added to the drama presented and the need to rely on God as He directs.

Bringing the OT to life!

I love this author and every book Ive read. Some places are a little sappy, but the overall storyline is a masterful way of weaving together Biblical history in a way that brings the reader into those dusty, seemingly irrelevant ancient tales. It also beautifully illuminates Yahweh’s character and ways. This is a must read for any lover of fiction who also studies the Bible. And, the epilogue made me love it even more.

Beautiful conclusion to the Out from Egypt trilogy

What a beautiful conclusion to Cossette's Out from Egypt trilogy! With some obvious Mulan-like aspects at the start, I loved this story of forgiveness and redemption. The Bible doesn't give us many details of the Israelites' 40 years in the wilderness, but I feel like Cossette does a good job of fleshing out some probable scenarios. If anything, reading this trilogy has inspired me to dive back into God's Word to re-read these stories of His faithfulness toward His chosen people.

Loved this book!

I loved this book! After listening to the first book in this trilogy, I was hooked on the writing. I was Intrigued by the description and knew I had to listen to it. It is very well written, I ended up listening to the whole thing in one day! I highly recommend it, the author did her research.

An Awesome Read

I love Biblical history novels. It truly brings alive the hardships the people of Israel. It’s easy to be frustrated with them when we read of their seemingly continuous complaining but this gives light to their frustrations in real life settings. And I loved this story showing the degradation of the societies they conquered and why God gave His chosen people their land.

Intriguing glimpse into the lives of the inhabitants of Canaan and their opinions of Israelites.

The plot and characters were fascinating and held my attention.

The editor needed to catch details of the story that were unrealistic. That’s irritating when absorbed in a good story and then the timeline or events fail to align.
