Publisher's summary

She's the perfect host. He's the perfect victim.

Someone is hunting Connor. Alone, freezing, in the wilderness of Bodmin Moor, on an elite Special Forces training exercise, he'd be a fool to scorn the kindness of a local stranger. Wouldn't he?

At first, Eilidh seems to be an impeccable host. She offers Connor food and a warm bed - he finds it nearly impossible to leave her charming farmhouse.

But the choice isn't his to make.

There have been others before. None, though, as perfect as him.

Why would she let him leave?

Excellent

This is an extremely well crafted book.
I was entertained from start to finish and I love how unique the plot is.
The characters are totally fleshed out, multidimensional, and the reader has the tantalizing task of trying to sort out what will happen next.
If a book manages to keep me engaged and invested for more than a few hours, I’m sold.
This author is an extraordinary talent and I cannot wait to see what she does next.
I’ve absolutely LOVED both of her books and I sincerely hope she keeps this momentum going.
Phenomenal…

Completely Unbelievable

I can't for the life of me understand how people have given this book 4 or 5 stars. It's as if this author has never met or interviewed anyone from special forces. The main character makes decisions like he is the hot girl on a horror movie and the first one to die. There is a whole lot of sex that just gives you the ick and adds nothing to the story. The supposed twist was not nearly shocking enough to redeem the 9hrs prior that just drug on.

A Great Little Psychological Thriller

If I hate a book and can't finish it, it gets a one or two star rating. If I gained some enjoyment from a book but it contained many annoying flaws and left me not wanting to read more by the author, it gets three stars. If a book is flawed but I really enjoyed it and want to read more by the author, it gets four stars. Every once in a while, I'll read a book and say to myself, wow, finally a truly professional writer and an amazing story. Those are five star books. This book, is a four and a half, but since I think I'm the first to write a review for it, I'm rounding up because I really hope others will read it. I normally listen to books while performing the mindless tedium of my job, but for this one I had to keep listening when I got home and finished it all in one day.

The narrators also did a good job, but I will caution you to listen to the sample to see if you can get an ear for the Scottish accents. I found it a little off-putting at first but soon it was no bother. If you are ok with the readers and the summary sounds appealing, I very much recommend giving this book a try.
