How far would you go to protect the ones you love?

Jamie and Victoria are off for a last quick vacation before the arrival of their first baby. The remote country guesthouse Victoria chose seems like the perfect retreat—miles away from the distractions of work and their regular life. And the older couple that runs the establishment, Barry and Fiona, is more than accommodating.

But when Jamie and Victoria awake on their first morning, they find the house deserted. Barry and Fiona are nowhere to be seen. All the doors are locked. And their cell phones and car keys have disappeared.

Even though it's a few weeks before the baby's due date, Victoria feels the contractions starting. The baby is coming...and there's no way out.

The Guest House is an unpauseable thriller with an explosive beginning and shocking twists perfect for fans of Lucy Foley and Ruth Ware.

Major twists and turns

I love Ruth Ware’s books. This collaboration takes it to a new level. You will not see it coming.

a gut-wrenching story that takes an unexpected 180

this story was gut-wrenching to read and the author did such a good job of making me feel the anguish & stress of the characters that I almost stopped reading it multiple times...but I'm glad I didn't as there was the most unexpected twist 3/4 of the way through the story - a truly unbelievable story and very well-writtem

A Slow Start, But......

This is my first novel by Robin Morgan-Bentley. When I first started listening I wasn't sure I would enjoy it. It starts out very slow and seemed to drag in areas. However, at about the half way point, the story became an absolute page turner.

Once the lies, deceit, betrayal and guilt are brought into the story, I was completely mesmerized and couldn't wait to find out what happened next. There are twists, turns and a few shocking surprises as I got further into this story.

Robin Morgan-Bentley is a skilled storyteller and I look forward to reading more of his works.

Painfully Convoluted

So many chapters repeating the same angst and anguish over and over and over, only to abruptly land at the dénouement in an inane “twist”. Incredibly disappointing.

This is a read that you won’t see the ending coming. Very twisty and thrilling

A very thrilling and twist turning book. Sometimes you don’t think people can be so twisted but after you read this book you will think twice. Kept me interested until the very end and then I was shocked

Story was OK.

The story in this book keeps switching between characters and dates. It might be OK for someone else, but I found it to be extremely frustrating.

Excellent narration. Story was ok

As always, Joanne Froggatt did a stellar performance. Story was ok. Characters were not likable at all.

An emotional and shattering listen

After four disappointing attempts at other Audible books in my library, I gave this a second chance. I was amazed that all narrators gave phenomenally five-star performances. Though Robin Morgan-Bentley’s novel is distressing, I listened through to the end and was glad I did. “The Guest House” deals with pregnancy difficulties and may trigger negative feelings.
