About this listen

As an OB/GYN Dr. Allison Hill has delivered thousands of babies; as a mom she's given birth to her own two children. Hill has a unique perspective on the many questions moms have surrounding pregnancy and childbirth - especially when it comes to going natural.

Drawing on her 20 years of expertise as well as current medical data, she weighs the pros and cons of the range of options available - hospital or birthing center, MD or midwife. Covering everything from understanding a doctor's bias to medical interventions (what's necessary - and what's not) to home births, Hill debunks common myths and provides insight into hot-button issues and a keen look into why doctors do what they do. Your Pregnancy, Your Way helps parents-to-be achieve safe and healthy deliveries.

Unbiased

I found the book very informative and unbiased. The author explains when interventions are the best option. I loved the doctor diary stories as well. Listening was easy and pleasant.

Great book! Very thorough.

I really enjoyed this book, so valuable to have an OBGYN’s perspective towards a more natural birth, fomenting a more holistic way of birthing babies but with the science to back up the procedures available to parents and babies and what each involves medically. Touches base not only on pregnancy, your delivery options, procedures and regulations, but also what happens after birth. I believe every expecting parent should read/listen to this book to know their options and to help them make a more informed decision about the birthing of their kids.

The best book on pregnancy

I absolutely loved this book! I recommended it to all my pregnant friends. So much information, so comprehensive and balanced. The experience of the author working in the field is invaluable. Constant references to scientific studies (or mentioning the absence of such studies) are also extremely important (I’m a scientist myself). It does matter what kind of birth style or interventions you are leaning towards - it’s a book for every pregnant woman (by a very non-judgmental author). I’ve listened to/read several books on the topic and I think I could have just listened to this one. So many thanks to the author(s)!

Great Interesting Book

Great interesting book. Some things seem a bit biased and not well researched but the read tries to be unbiased to allow mothers to research their own preferences.

Great for FTMs

I enjoyed listening to this book and the different perspectives that it provided. I think the content would be most beneficial for FTMs but as a second time mom (for whom it's been a while), I appreciated the review and the insight.
