About this listen

The dazzling new novel in the #1 New York Times best-selling series from the grand master of adventure.

It is called zero point energy, and it really exists - a state of energy contained in all matter everywhere, and thus all but unlimited. Nobody has ever found a way to tap into it, however - until one scientist discovers a way.

Or at least he thinks he has. The problem is, his machines also cause great earthquakes, even fissures in tectonic plates. One machine is buried deep underground; the other is submerged in a vast ocean trench. If Kurt Austin and Joe Zavala and the rest of the NUMA team aren't able to find and destroy them, and soon, the world will be on the threshold of a new era of earth tremors and unchecked volcanism.

Now, that can't be good.

Thrill after Thrill

Another great thrilling adventure from Cussler and Brown. This was very close to home as I love in Australia, narrator Scott Brick accents Aussie accents were quite funny, in all he gave a good performance, I think I'm getting used to him now. Well worth the credit is you are a lover of Kurt Austin and Joe Zavala and the NUMA team. There was only one thing missing in all of his books Clive Cussler himself appears somewhere only a short line but there, he wasn’t shame that always brings a smile to my face when he makes an appearance.

What a great book to listen to.

I’m a huge Clive fan and have many of his books. But once I started Zero Hour I didn’t stop listening until the end.

Riveting fun story. Classic Kurt Austin action

Good narrator, easy to listen,Australian accents well done. Nice plot twist near the end. Fun minor characters added a lot to the story.

My first Clive on Audible

Kurt Austin, a likable, resourceful action hero and his dependable, quipster partner, Joe Zavala, both work for NUMA and are used to being in the thick of things. While the duo are supposed to be on vacation, they get drawn into an unexpected, haphazard chase of a diabolical scientist "Thero". The US, and Australia both rejected his radical theories of creating, zero point energy because of the horrific global side affects of its use.  Years after he was thought to have been killed by the Russians, the maniacal Thero, resurfaces with fully developed zero point energy and a plot of revenge against the countries that slighted him. The Russians are trying to find and destroy it at any cost because of the "Free energy" aspect.   Kurt and Joe are trying to find Thero and disable his device before he uses it to destroy Australia.

I have not read anything by CC in quite a while. I had always loved his stories with, Dirk, Al and all of the old gang, they were my favorites for years. Listening to Zero Hour reminded me how great CC's expert flair in the fast action/thriller genre is. The pace of this non stop adventure makes this an exciting, high speed listen. Scott Brick does a great job with all of the characters voices, and I now understand why the reviewers are attached to the excellent pairing of CC and Brick. I enjoyed it and would recommend.

An Australian Focus

This is an enjoyable Cussler novel with some interesting settings in Sydney and Alice Springs. It moves along at a good pace, with some interesting twists and turns.
