As a captain, Ryck Lysander has been given one of the most sought-after assignments in the Marines: an infantry company commander. His new battalion commanding officer, however, is not impressed with Ryck’s past accomplishments, and Ryck finds himself struggling to fulfill his CO’s expectations.

Following a bloody escape from the clutches of their corporate enslavers, and aided by their new allies, the android race who refer to themselves as the Deimers, the Genesians arrive at a temporary safe haven. Once there, they quickly begin preparations to defend themselves against a galaxy that has now branded them as outcast, abomination, and pariah. Soon after the Genesians publicly declare their rights as free and independent beings, they are viciously attacked.

Convicted of a minor traffic violation, Rev Pelletier is conscripted into the Perseus Union Marine Corps...for up to a 30-year term of service. Anxious to get back to his civilian life and job, Rev opts for a shorter term as a Marine Raider taking the fight to the enemy. But with extremely high mortality rates, can he and his friends survive until their term of service is over?

Staff Sergeant Reverent Pelletier has been attached to the Congress of Humanity’s Home Guard, tasked with keeping the home system safe. Old rivalries and new enemies threaten the alliance, despite the counsel general’s mission to ensure humanity doesn’t fall into their old ways of conflict and war.

Captain Esther Lysander, UFMC, is a combat Marine. Her new orders, however, are APOC, or “At the Pleasure of the Chairman,” and while she knows this type of assignment could be career-threatening, she feels duty-bound to accept them. There is no SOP for being APOC, except that it isn't combat-as-usual. Part spy, part soldier, part political window dressing, Esther has to adapt to everything from clandestine meetings with rebel forces, hostage rescues, and off-the-record sniper missions to being a courier between the chairman and other heads of state.

As the flames of the Human/Naxli war are fanned into a blaze, the Second Combined Assault Brigade is thrown into the conflict. But with troopers from throughout humanity, including former enemies, Gunnery Sergeant Reverent Pelletier struggles to mold his platoon into an effective fighting force, all while butting heads with his Mad Dog commander. Under water, in the vacuum of space, and leading local forces, the platoon puts their stamp on history. But there is a limit to any fighting force. Will and discipline alone can’t defeat overwhelming firepower.

As a certified “hero,” Sergeant Ryck Lysander gets offered a commission as a second lieutenant. Only, he doesn’t feel like a hero, and his tendency to jump into a fight himself is at odds with his duties as an officer. When first contact with an alien race turns into a full-blown war, Ryck is thrust into combat once again, and the battle goes poorly.

With humanity joining the alliance to fight the Naxli invaders, the war should be turning in their favor. Unfortunately, the enemy must not have gotten that memo. Across the galaxy, the Naxli strive for total domination. To create a stronger resistance, Gunny Pelletier is sent to work with the various races, but he and his team soon discover that reaching common ground and coordinating military action is far more difficult than they’d imagined.

As a lieutenant colonel, Ryck is given command of the Second Battalion. With the Marine Corps anxious to certify the resurfaced concept of integrated operations units, the battalion is thrown right into the fire. With his new command, Ryck has the opportunity to prove his ability to be a true combat leader and not just as a warrior. But with that opportunity come the risk that he cannot handle the manager aspect of command: the logistics, training, maintenance, admin, and support aspects that allow every unit to maximize its combat potential.

Wasp Squadron: Publisher's Pack contains Fire Ant (book 1) and Crystals (book 2) of The Navy of Humanity: Wasp Squadron series. Fire Ant, book 1: Floribeth Salinas O’Shae Dalisay is an Off-Planet Worker, employed as an exploration pilot by the giant corporation, Hamdani Brothers. Crystals, book 2: War with the aliens has broken out, and they seem to have all the advantages. Rev is a Marine, born and bred to fight and survive, to defend those who cannot defend themselves. But one way or another, his journey is coming to an end.

With peace at home beginning to break down, the Exile Fleet is on its own as it tries to fulfill its mission...and not get killed in the process.

For Esther and Noah Lysander, children of the famous/infamous General Ryck Lysander, their time of service has come to a close. They both made many sacrifices during their careers, to themselves and their loved ones. But as retirement looms ahead, there remains what is perhaps the most important question:

Stepping up as an NCO, however, is something different. It isn’t enough to be an effective warrior. He has to be able to lead his fellow Marines, all without doubting his own abilities. Failing will not only lead to his own death, but to those under his command. The responsibility is heavy, and the cost of losing is high. Zachary Cannon joined the Navy to get trained as a radiology tech, a skill he could use to get a job and support his family after his enlistment. But the needs of the Navy take priority, and much to his surprise, he was given orders to the Fleet Marine Force as a corpsman to an infantry battalion deploying to Iraq. As part of a rifle squad in Ramadi, Zach joins the Marines on patrol, in assaults, and on security duty, facing the same dangers and hardships.

Noah Lysander, son of the former Marine Commandant and Chairman of the Federation, followed his twin sister in enlisting as a Marine. While Esther excelled, getting commissioned as an officer, Noah is not so driven, and when he proposes to Miriam, he makes a pledge to be a better husband and future parent than his own father had been. Reenlisting for armor, Noah becomes a crewman on an M1 Davis, the most powerful tank ever developed.
