When Citaria falls under the shadow of a demonic incursion, only a legendary hero can stop them. For Karian Vanador, though, being resurrected comes with a price. Not only is she in a different time and place, but the world has changed in her absence, and she must face the dark demons of her past once again.

The conflict between Citaria and Mehr’Durillia has begun. Gone are the days of subtlety and subterfuge, giving way to the rising tide of war. As the Silver Blades and their allies lay plans to fight the war on enemy soil rather than at home, new allies and enemies rise to the surface. An ancient evil stirs from its ages-old slumber. A once-peaceful empire threatens from the West as an undead uprising begins.

The dead are rising from their graves. Somewhere beneath the land of Terrassia, something stirs from its ages-old slumber. Leighandra Evenstar planned to attend the resulting summit of nations simply to chronicle the problem and the suggested solutions. Soon, however, she finds herself wrapped up with a group of young heroes intent on making solutions rather than talking about them. They are an odd assortment - humans, an elf, and one of the wolf-like luranar - and yet Leighandra finds purpose in the unity of peoples and nations.

The war for Mehr’Durillia has begun. With the Council of Anthraxis shattered, only four kings remain to counter the collective armies of Mehr’Durillia’s six sister worlds. But three of these are by far the worst of the lot: the eldest, most destructive kings, the very architects of the destruction of a deity and the enslavement of multiple worlds. There is little doubt that they will fight to the bitter end and cast every life they can into the maw of war before they admit defeat.

For Karian Vanador, though, being resurrected comes with a price. Not only is she in a different time and place, but the world has changed in her absence, and she must face the dark demons of her past once again. Partnered with allies who would've been her enemies in her past life, she must adapt to this new world and lead these young heroes to fulfill their potential - to stop a civil war being stoked by demonic influences. If they fail, Citaria may fall to a war that dwarfs the Apocalypse.

With her brother-in-law imprisoned behind enemy lines, Kari must mount a daring rescue to rival her previous forays to Mehr'Durillia. The problem is, the battles she's fought in recent weeks have left her in no condition to go anywhere....

Kari and her allies have seen numerous miracles in recent months, from the glorious rebirth of a friend to the unprecedented alliance of many peoples from across Terrassia and beyond. Now, all the pieces are in place, the military campaign known as The Phoenix Ascension ready to be put into motion. All hope - not just on Terrassia or even Citaria as a whole, but on her sister worlds of Irrathmor and Mehr'Durillia as well - now rests on the execution of this plan. Failure will mean the end of the last chance of liberating Mehr'Durillia and the deaths of the final defenders of Citaria.

War has erupted on three worlds. A hero king lies in chains in a demon-controlled realm. Kari and her allies are beset on all sides, both at home and in their enemies' lands. All is not lost, however, for the keys to the ancient Temple of Archons have been gathered and Salvation's Dawn stands at the fore. At last, the Temple will be opened, the intentions of the gods made clear. The hope of all mankind rests upon this event, and the forces of Light stand to open the Temple before the demon kings become aware.

In the wake of a deadly attack, veteran demon hunter Karian Vanador faces a daunting task: Sending her friends and family into danger without being at their side. With her pregnancy progressing, she must uncover a spy within her own Order, expose servants of the demon kings living right in her home city, and match wits with enemies that she knows little, if anything, about. And in all of this, she must act as a general, putting the lives of her friends and family at risk to see to an end she can't accomplish herself.

As the web of deceit and lies widens, Karian Vanador must try to find allies - however unlikely - to combat the enemies of the Demonhunter Order. Effectively forced into a visit to the volatile King S'Bakthra, Kari must try to match wits with a being over 12,000 years old. Can she turn an enemy into an unwitting ally, without having the same done to her? This is to say nothing of Kari's testing to become her deity's avatar. An age-old enemy comes back into Kari's life, forcing her to walk away from an ailing husband and young children to see to her god's wishes.

When a demon king demands the repayment of a favor, Karian Vanador finds herself prisoner to his wishes. But all is not as it appears.... Working behind enemy lines, Kari must turn the unexpected into an advantage. War between the worlds of Citaria and Mehr’Durillia is inevitable, but the question of where it will be fought lies in her hands. If she can strike just the right blow, Kari may keep the battle far from the realms of her people.
