The Data Collectors

Lucene Jones has a secret. Except, even she doesn’t know what it is. Working as an assistant to the priestess Reverend Isabella in a small spiritual temple in Florida, and renting a room from her best friend, Fatima, her world is upended when a mysterious stranger shows up one late afternoon in the middle of a storm. Following his arrival, memories from her past, ones she had buried long ago, begin to resurface.

Much like we observe and collect data about our environment, wildlife, and endangered species, the Data Collectors were sent here to collect and report back information about us. At one time, humans lived on many planets, in many solar systems; but now we are endangered and currently live on a single planet...Earth. The Data Collectors are trying to determine what is causing our near extinction to save humans as a species. Meanwhile, special interest groups would rather see the human race die off sooner, rather than later.

Nothing is quite as it should be when Lucene Jones finally arrives on Erde. The Peace-Keepers are forced into an uneasy alliance with the Vitruvians when they discover that the nomadic Royals may have skipped out on a deal. Namely, they failed to deliver the one natural born empath, born of two genetically modified Data Collectors, to a restless demon named Jasper Set.

After more than 100 years of peace, Erde must prepare for war for the first time in over a century. The only problem is, they don’t know how. Because they are small in number, they are forced to learn and become experts on things they know nothing about - and fast! Under threat from the Royals, the Vitruvians, and the Null, TARA (and its Makerspace) has been converted to accommodate warcraft, combat training, psychological warfare, espionage, and interrogation.
