It started innocently enough. Beautiful Harper gave Sean those eyes...those eyes that meant, yes, take me. But Harper didn’t know Sean’s secrets.... She didn’t know that he liked it rough.
More than rough. He liked to dominate. To punish. To degrade. It was the only way that the black hole in his soul wouldn’t swallow him up.
He would push her a little too far, and she would run. They all ran, eventually.
But that’s not what happened...when he put his hands around her throat and squeezed, Harper moaned. When he told her to stay away, she didn’t listen, misbehaving until she got spanked. When he took out the handcuffs, there was excitement in her eyes, mixed with a little fear.
The doe-eyed redhead liked it. More than that, she wanted it. She said so, time and again.
That’s the thing about sexy strangers, though...you never know what they’re hiding. And Harper is carrying a burden so heavy that even Sean’s secrets pale in comparison.
Contains mature themes.

*spoiler alert*
at the end of the book, the main characters best friend wakes up from his coma and an hour later the main characters lawyer is calling him on the phone telling him that his best friend is blaming him for everything having to do with the accident, and that the cops are going to come and he should be worried. There's no way that could have happened after a sustained coma, an hour after he woke up he wouldn't even be considered coherent or understanding anything that's happening. It would have been days or weeks before they would have allowed what he was saying to be considered legitimate and outside of the influence of drugs and mental trauma or brain damage depending on the assessments of the doctors. It's unrealistic, and that bothers me a lot. as much as the author respected all of the other things having to do with medical and or personal lifestyle choices I think she should have done the research on brain trauma and calm has also. she could easily have had the main character be in the room when his friend Woke up, had his friends blame him for the accident in some way and had him tailspin into alcoholism and get arrested for drunk and disorderly. It would have been more believable and just as acceptable. Other than that I love the story in the book and I am absolutely going to read the rest of it. Thank you.
