About this listen

Don't believe in love at first sight? He'll make you believe.... Come back to Vermont and to this USA Today best-selling series!

Skye Copeland is on paid leave from her broadcasting job after accidentally drawing a pecker on the traffic map. Let that sink in. Like it's her fault the traffic pattern that day created a perfect schlong?

Skye isn't laughing. She needs this job. And that's the only reason she's agreed to chase down a story in her least favorite place - that hell on earth known as Vermont. A quick trip. In and out. Much like - never mind.

Skye can sneak into the town that once tried to break her, get the story and get back into the good graces of her producer. Easy peasy. Except things go sideways even as she sets foot over the county line.

Her step-sister is on the run from a violent drug dealer. And the cop on the case is none other than Benito Rossi, the man who broke her teenage heart. His dark brown eyes still tear her apart. And even as she steels herself to finally tell him off after 12 years, the old fireworks are still there.

Things are about to go boom.

Ben and Skye Are Amazing Together

I have pretty much devoured every book written by Sarina Bowen that I can get my hands on. I enjoyed this book so much that after I finished it, I went back to Chapter 34 and listened to the end again! A tough guy who loves his girl unconditionally and worships the ground she walks on (not to mention her whole body) just makes my heart melt! I love the True North Series and the Brooklyn Bruisers and since most of them are in Audible Enchanted, you NEED to go listen to them - NOW!

Favorite of the series

This was a good story. I usually don’t like so many flashbacks - and it was easy to figure out what separated the H/h before it was revealed - but that did not ruin the experience. The problems they faced were described well and the characters well developed.

All I See Is Fireworks!

Sarina Bowen keeps the momentum high and pulls you in for another great story with even greater characters in Fireworks.
Twelve years...and every thing is different yet nothing has changed as far as the feelings Skye and Benito are concerned.
Time and distance didn’t quell the chemistry between them when they’re in the same room and it bled on to the kindle pages. It didn’t squash all the heart racing and blood pumping that happens when they’re around each other, so strong you wondered if you were feeling it too.
Bowen has you fully invested in their hea. I was hooked on every page turning word. Skye spent a lot of time fighting a relationship with Benito and she finally realized he was just the spark she needed. Zachary Webber and Susannah Jones were the perfect Skye and Benito!

Great romance with a side of suspense

I've been slowly making my way through the True North series and have enjoyed each and every book and the characters we've met along the way. These books can all be read as standalones, but I'm enjoying the connections each storyline has to the next without being so blatantly obvious. AND the audios have been amazing!! Truly capturing the characters, the emotions and their stories they have to tell. I'm living off the audios and haven't picked up a physical book for the series since the narrators are so dang good at portraying each Rossi and Shipley.

Fireworks is the 6th book in the series and it's a story about one of the Rossi's. Benito Rossi works for the law. We're not exactly what position, just that he's a man of the law and he's out trying to find his biggest case and Vermont's biggest drug ring and he will stop at nothing to put an end to it. Meanwhile, Skye, a girl from his past comes back to town after a 12 year hiatus because her sister is in trouble and asked for her to come back. But her sister is in more deep than Skye could ever imagine.

Fireworks is a second chance romance told in dual POV for the present timeline with the addition of adding 3rd person from Skye's POV for the past timeline. I don't think we always need a dual timeline for second chance romance, but it was important to Skye and Benito's present and also held a connection to a lead that Benito had been working on for years. I liked that we basically got a very innocent Skye that has been holding out for her first true love that she thought was unrequited. They were sweet with a side of angst and sexy sexy sexy!! But what this book added that the previous didn't was the suspense. I LOVED this part and the way the past played into the present suspense.

If you've liked the previous books in this series, you'll definitely want to check this one out. If small town, second chance romance with a side of suspense is your jam, Fireworks has you covered. The characters, the setting and the way Sarina Bowen has created a world I want to live is pretty special. I can't wait to read more and experience all the Shipleys and Rossis. So many good characters and I need all of their stories!!

A little something for everyone and wonderful narration!!

Skylar and Benito’s story is told in both flashbacks of remembered pain and heartache 12 years ago that brings them together to fight for the safety of the community and a better life they both desperately hope to have. It has a little something for everyone; great characters, mystery, suspense, some violence and lots and lots of fireworks. It can be read as a stand-alone but I suggest reading the entire series because most of the characters make cameo appearances throughout the individual titles. I especially enjoyed the entertaining narration performances of new-to-me female narrator Susannah Jones and fan favorite Zachary Webber.

Fireworks!

Fireworks is one of my new favorites! Grafie (Skye) is a great heroine! She comes from a hard childhood into a badas*. Skye falls in love with Ben. After a misunderstanding she leaves town. Twelve years later... her employer makes her take a vacation (LOL gotta love a blunder on TV) Her step sister invites her for the weekend where she see's Ben again. Humor, Drama, Action and Romance. I want a Ben in my life! Sarina Bowen...love you girl! Zachary Webber... One of Sexist Male Voices EVER. Susannah Jones...WOW nice job! Will be looking for more of Ms. Jones. If I could give more stars I would have!

Not my favorite at all

I love Benito's character so much and have been dying to hear his story but it wasn't as good as the rest of the books. Skye was such a hot mess and not in a good way.

She was a bit too childlike and irrational for me.
