About this listen

She's a shy fiddle player from the city.

He's a small-town cowboy with the reputation of a playboy.

And they'll be working side-by-side, all day every day.

PRESLEY JAMES isn't one for being impulsive. But now she's found herself smack dab in the middle of Randall, Texas. Population 5,549. And to make matters worse, she can't seem to get away from a cowboy whose love of giving her nicknames is testing her patience. A cowboy who is flirty, annoying, and too young for her.

KADE MONTGOMERY has enough on his plate. Between constant fights with his family and a brand new dude ranch to build, he doesn't do relationships. But he does do women, booze, and fun . . . until a certain purple-haired, tattooed city girl walks in and changes everything.

Will Kade and his playboy ways send Presley running for the hills, or will he be able to rope her in?

Contains mature themes.

Best Narrators

I love the story so much and now I'm walking around the house with a Southern draw and I love me some Grayson Owens

Binged in one day

Another hit by Kayla Grosse! I listened to this in one day. I loved the characters and watching their growth. Spicy cowboy scenes and communications vs a third act breakup! Cannot wait for Jake’s book!

Amazing Redemption Story

Performance: 🎤🎤🎤🎤🎤/5
Story: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️.5/5

Rope Me In is a heartwarming combination of raw emotion, personal growth, romance and steam. These characters stole my heart and the redemption arc for Kade was everything. Don’t forget to check your TWs–grief, addiction, and mental health play a primary role throughout the story.

Lucy Rivers as Presley James. Presley is running from her problems and trying to figure out a new plan for her life. Rivers did an excellent job channeling Presley’s feelings of anxiety and self-doubt as Presley learns to love herself just the way she is and find healing. Rivers created a believable and touching journey that focused on mental health and finding family and love when you least expect it.

Grayson Owens as Kade Montgomery. Kade is angry at the world and his story is raw and gritty as he struggles with grief, addiction, and mental health while also finding love when he doesn’t feel worthy of love. Owens does a phenomenal job embodying Kade’s emotions and you feel Kade’s hurt, pain and vulnerability through Owens' expressive performance.

If you’re a fan of cowboy romances with substance and spice, then I can’t recommend this series enough!

Not my cup of tea

Honestly I do not mind angst in my listens but I couldn’t get behind this book there was a lot of talk about addiction and a lot of rambling about how “no one can find out I play the fiddle” honestly overall not my type of read. I skipped to the end of the book and still was able to find out a recap of what happened. If you read the first book you’ll know it’s a lot of adults trying to figure their lives out after tragedy and it’s alright but the narration was not it for me on these books. The male narrator did an alright job kinda sounded like he would sometimes remember he should have an accent and the female narrator just gasps too much in my opinion…all in all I wish the preview shared the trigger warnings before I wasted my credit. For full trigger warnings go to authors page before diving in. While I personally have not had to deal with people who are abusive and have issues with alcoholism I’m sure it can be something someone might not want to listen to. Take care of yourselves! Xx
