About this listen

The only thing holding me back was my heart. You know, the broken one.

I knew if Jake and I got back together we would make our past relationship look like child's play. It would be a sweet footnote to this new, torrid love affair. "Jake and Eve 2.0" would be an uncontrolled explosion of sex and adoration.

Uncontrolled explosions were dangerous. Everyone knew that.

And yet, I couldn't seem to stop myself from playing with the matches.

Loving someone, and being in love, isn't always the same thing.

That's what Eve Daniels is trying to come to terms with when Jake Spencer suddenly returns to her life after 10 years of silence. Haunted by a past he had no power to control, Jake left everyone and everything behind in hopes of saving Eve from his demons. His one regret was breaking her heart.

From the moment they reconnect, it is clear to Eve the passion, brilliance, and determination that first attracted her to Jake are stronger than ever. So strong that fighting their pull seems useless. But falling back in love isn't as easy as letting the walls down. Eve soon realizes the choices they've both made come with consequences. Ones that will test how deep her love runs for a man living with a storm inside.

Recommended for ages 17+ due to explicit language and sexual situations

Great Romantic Story

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes I would, if they are in to this type of book. This is a Mature theme book.

Any additional comments?

This was a very enjoyable book. I did have a few issues how the fact Jack was gone for 10 years but did not stop loving her, but never called or wrote or anything. I would continue this series if they make the other books into audio books.

A bit too much smut

I was gifted this book for free for an honest review

Umm this book was okay but not brilliant.
It follows the story of Jake & Eve and there on off, on off, on off relationship.
Basically that was the whole book, they were in love and had "explosive" sex, Jake disappeared for 10 years and then just turns up and expects to get back together with Eve, whadya know, she takes him back!
Queue more explosive sex, an argument or 3, more sex and a little bit more sex thrown in.
Now I don't know about you but I loves me a bit of smut, but I was pretty bored with all the shagging in this book, I found myself skimming the book by the end.
I'm not sure whether I will be reading book 2.

The narrator was a little bit too monotone for me, her voices were all the same and didn't really have much difference to them.

Disappointed

I am not a prude about explicitly s#x scenes in books but when they over power a good storyline then I have an issue with a book. It felt like the author was stretched for a deep second chance theme. The narrator was not a problem. I just couldn't finish this book.

You Want *Trashy* Here -If You Want A Plot Move On

Was The Storm Inside worth the listening time?

*
I was given this book in exchange for money thoughts, opinions and this review.

The Publishers Summary sounded really good, Eve Daniels and Jake Spencer are a couple and they are in love. Then something happens and Jake disappears for 10 years. During that time Jake has not reached out in any way shape or form to Eve. So, when they meet again Jake hopes to start up where they left off, Eve is not having any of it, for the first couple of chapters anyway.

The plot is a bit weak and the "ghost" that Jake is running from is obvious. But one wonders why a grown man wouldn't take care of this past piece of his life.

There is a lot of intimacy throughout the book and if you are into bedroom scenes, bathroom scenes, kitchen seems and exhibition scenes outside you will enjoy this book.

However, for me, the plot really wasn't there. There was no dealing with any of it until the very end of the book.

Leyna Baltimore is a great storyteller. There are the two main characters, Jake and Eve & a second couple who is given a lot of times in this book. Leyna Baltimore gives each character an individual voice which is tough to do, I would imagine. Good performance.

Notes: This should be rated for mature audiences over 18. Mature themes and strong language

Credit worthy/$: I would not purchase this outright nor would I use a credit on it but if you're looking for something that's hot & easy you may like it. Based on the publishers summary, I was really excited to listen to this book. However, it really didn't have much more then the descriptions of Eve and Jake and the risk and escapades. A couple who does not care who hears them or where they are.

Love Story with a Little Bit of Sex

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Not sure I would really change anything except the pace. It was a tad slow.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

It ended exactly the way I expected, no surprises.

Would you be willing to try another one of Leyna Baltimore’s performances?

Maybe, it would depend on the genre. Maybe poetry or a classic but the seductive voice just isn't there.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Probably not. It was a cute love story, and worth a read but not the kind of movie I would go to.

Not my Cup of tea.

Was a chore to finish. Was my first novel of this kind and it's just not my thing. I like Romance stories but not overly sexually graphic ones. There's a first time for everything and I have learned something about myself is the best I can say about it. And also the way the narrator did the Male voices was almost creepy, lol.
