About this listen

A new, original novella in the A Court of Thorns and Roses series that picks up several months after the events of A Court of Wings and Ruin.

Months after the explosive events in A Court of Wings and Ruin, Feyre, Rhys, and their companions are still busy rebuilding the Night Court and the vastly-changed world beyond. But Winter Solstice is finally near, and with it, a hard-earned reprieve. Yet even the festive atmosphere can't keep the shadows of the past from looming. As Feyre navigates her first Winter Solstice as High Lady, she finds that those dearest to her have more wounds than she anticipated - scars that will have far-reaching impact on the future of their Court.

If a Book Series Had a Christmas Special ...

That's basically what this is. While I knew it was a novella, I was hoping for something akin to Tower of Dawn, where we'd see more of the story/character arc for some of the other characters.
If you just want to visit with the characters you should enjoy it. I was hoping for a bit more.

A Court of Frost and Starlight

Book was fine but wanted more. Don't really care for "inbetween" books. And I CANNOT stand this narrator. Didn't like her in book 3 and didn't like her her.e. Half the time you can't tell who is speaking. All her voices sound thre same. In my opinion the narrator makes the story come to life. If Amanda had done books 1 & 2 this series would NOT have been as well received.

Great Character Building Story!

I'm not sure why so many were so disappointed in the novella. The description says its a novella and not a full book. I think it gave a great in between moment from the war and what is to come and also I felt it gave GREAT background stories to build up the characters we have all come to love more! In my opinion it is a great story and totally worth it!

Such an amazing book, but hate Nesta

I Have loved every moment to this series, I have loved and cared for these beautiful characters and I love how strong Feyra has become, mentally and physically. Nesta on the other hand, it's like she kept taking one step forward and then 20 steps back, she kept losing all her character development and it's so frustrating

An important bridge between books

I’ll be honest - this one took me a year to get through. It’s slow but necessary to understand the characters and to prepare for what’s to come.

A short Christmas like novella

I enjoyed the peacefulness this book brought. You really got to take a deep breath from all the chaos, battles, and stress from the main storyline. It was nice seeing the story through multiple characters eyes and learning a bit more about each of them. It was a really sweet Christmas time read where everyone came together

Heartwarming

This festive and charming read was a refreshingly light follow up to book 3 and a nice in between before the next book. I am excited to get back into the action when I begin book 5.
