About this listen

The only favor the aliens do for Clint Beecham when they abduct him is give him a shirt that says "Do Not Eat" on it in their language. He’s told that as a physicist, he is to be reserved, along with five other scientists, for a mysterious purpose.

But 50,000 other humans on board the interstellar scout ship are scheduled to be butchered and frozen, a food supply for the long journey to the alien homeworld. Clint and the other Reserves can’t stand by and let that happen.

Ayesha is a biologist and Deepali a geologist; Oscar is a meteorologist and Gregory specializes in robotics; Hanh is a researcher in marine biology. Together, they’re humanity’s last unlikely hope. Because if they don’t find a way to stop the ravenous aliens from reporting that they’ve found a planet full of delicious creatures to eat, the 50,000 humans on board will only be the first of billions: the entire Earth will become an all-you-can-eat buffet.

Like

Very good relatively short story. Introduced new characters and villains with a lot of the predictable Kevin Hearn humor I was very entertained would’ve liked a more definitive ending.

Fun and Fabulous

Chock-full of Kevin’s customary heart-stopping adventure and witty dialogue - in a fabulous science fiction fantasy! I loved it!

Fantastic story that ends too soon!

Great short story! The only downside is the ending leaves too many questions unanswered and has me wishing for the story in a full length novel format!

Good story made amazing by narration

I do not think I have laughed this hard at an audio book… ever. The story is good, if not a lot too short, but Luke Daniels narration was some of the best I have ever heard, if for no other reason than it sounds like he had a lot of fun recording it. His accents are impeccable! LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS BOOK!

A different Kevin Hearne Story

Overall a good Audible production. Luke Daniels once again nails it with his narration.
Gloom despair and agony on me and well you probably know the rest. To me that is how the main character is portrayed. I especially loved the endings little twist.

Human vs. Alien fun and frightening

4.5 hearts

Due to an early wake up and getting right to my emails, I was lucky enough to get a working code to receive this audiobook on Audible from the author's newsletter. I love scifi and it is relatively short so I thought it would be fun.

The basics here are aliens coming to earth to see about colonizing it with humans as their food source. The aliens start by capturing people who are in remote areas like parks. They run some tests on them and also store many of them to eat. Clint is chosen, as a physicist, along with a few other scientists, for additional tests.

I enjoyed A Question of Navigation. What happens is uplifting and horrific. Without some humor, this would just be a horror story. Some of it is gruesome yet inspiring. Intelligence, heart and Science win in the end.

Narration:
Luke Daniels is brilliant. He has distinct, incredible voices for our characters including the aliens. He will always be a top favorite narrator of mine. I listened at my normal 1.5x speed.
