About this listen

A perfect weekend. The perfect company. A perfect cabin.

The perfect place to bury a body…

For Joel and Stella, it’s the trip they’ve been dreaming about. Fresh air, quiet time in the woods, and no work to distract them from each other. Being a new couple, they don’t waste any time with their first full weekend away together.

But their perfect getaway turns into a nightmare when an accident occurs and they find a dead woman lying outside their cabin.

Clearly, they have to call the police, but what Joel reveals to Stella makes her understand there’s no way they can get the authorities involved.

Stella has no other choice than to go along with Joel’s plans to hide the body, realizing now that she never really knew the man she’s sharing a bed with.

But what if there’s more that Joel isn’t telling her? And what if he figures out that she doesn’t trust him anymore?

Most of all, what if Joel finds out the secret that she’s been hiding from him?

Just wow

This kept me on my toes! I definitely didn’t expect that ending!!! I was sure it was Stella acting on her own. The ending was definitely not what I expected

The pure mystery.

I loved the characters and the fact I couldn’t figure out the culprit. Looking forward to next book.

Unexpected Dark Humor

This is my first Drew Strickland novel. I am pleasantly surprised. The tags for this one is domestic thriller and psychological thriller. I can totally get behind the psychological thriller tag. Domestic thriller . . . mmmm, okay. I can see that too. The tag that I think those who tag missed is dark humor. Or maybe I just have a warped sense of humor . . . mmmm, could be that. All I know is that I unexpectedly laughed out loud numerous times throughout this novel and enjoyed myself immensely. With that being said, this one takes maybe half a day to read and is highly recommended to be read in a single setting. This is so you don't lose the mojo from all the twists happening.

Joel and Stella have been dating a month and decide to have a romantic weekend in a cabin. From the get go it is the worst weekend ever. These two have the worst luck. And that's all I can say without giving away the multitude of twists, OMGs, and WTFs.

I am definitely checking out Strickland's other standalone novel.
