About this listen

Delphine has been fae-marked from birth, treated as a curse despite the fact the once treacherous fae haven't been sighted in decades—in fact, no one in Delph's village has so much as laid eyes on one of the folk in nearly a century.

Right up until a fae turns up on her doorstep, demanding Delph as down payment.

No sooner has she set foot in the fae realm, however, then she learns she's no mere collateral in a deal made with the lord that owns her family lands. She was selected for a reason, hunted down for a single purpose.

The fae courts are fading. The folk disappearing. Only four courts remain. Four princes determined to save their crumbling kingdoms.

And Delph . . . Delph may just hold the key to save them all.

But even as Delph learns to see past the feared glamour of the fae realm, she quickly learns the impossible position she's found herself in. The fae may not be the monsters she was led to believe, but in order to save them . . . she may have to become a monster herself.

Contains mature themes.

Betrayal and bravery in the perfect mix

I adored this look and will absolutely listen to it again, The mix of passion hope and disparate love along side the heartbreak and motivation to safe what they knew is fantastic

Not so much trickery

I liked the story but the title doesn’t really fit. There’s a lot of sexual tension between the human starlight fae (if that’s what she really is) and each of the princes that seems organic- like they are drawn together. It seems like the human saves each prince and they don’t want to kill her. The main prince never strays from the plan so I don’t see how anything can be diluted into question. I’m not fond of the narration- kind of a weird, snarky, and whiny accent for the girl.

really dissatisfied

there was very little world, relationship, or character building and came off like a B grade porno.

Weak Plot

Bit confusing, not a quick or easy read for me personally. Weak details. Wasn't impressed!

How to smother any spice

Although not overly involved, the story was ok. I may have liked it better with a different narrator. I struggled with the odd inflections, phrasing, and odd ends of sentences. Oddly enough, she didn't do it with any of the other characters shw was voicing. And the constant attempt at holding tension in her voice in every scene really just made me want to "just get through it" versus enjoying. If I continue the series, it will be reading on paper.

Fell short

I felt the narrator did a great job on this book.

I had high hope for this story. I found it on IG and was intrigued by the tag line being ACOTAR but RH. The story started off strong. I was very intrigued but unfortunately got bored halfway through. It’s a short book so I did finish it but won’t be continuing the series
