About this listen

First in a New Military Science Fiction Series

"I was on a dead ship on an unknown planet with three trainees freshly graduated into the Imperial Service. I tried to look on the bright side."

He is the last to wake. The label on his sleeper pad identifies him as an admiral of the Evagardian Empire - a surprise as much to him as to the three recent recruits now under his command. He wears no uniform, and he is ignorant of military protocol, but the ship's records confirm he is their superior officer.

Whether he is an Evagardian admiral or a spy will be of little consequence if the crew members all end up dead. They are marooned on a strange world, their ship's systems are failing one by one - and they are not alone.

Critic reviews

“A cross between the action-filled suspense of The Martian and the tricky mental maneuverings of The Stainless Steel Rat. Admiral is a satisfying military adventure filled with plenty of science fiction mystery, wrapped in layers of caper-style suspense.” (Jean Johnson, national best-selling author of The V'Dan)

“A riveting space mystery. A seductive mix of suspense and action.” (William C. Dietz, national best-selling author of the Legion of the Damned novels)

“A fast-paced and engaging intrigue, with characters the reader will be attached to and root for despite their flaws and faults.... The Martian meets Bourne Identity by way of Alien.” (Marko Kloos, author of Chains of Command)

❤❤❤

For me Admiral was one of those books you're always excited to come back to. The story had enough going on that even until the end, and even after it, you were pulled to keep uncovering the story.

I doubt there will be a sequel but if there ever is I'd read the shit out of it.

Wow, I Didn't See that Coming.

This has to be one of the most original stories I've listened to in a while. The plot was well conceived and paced expertly. Even with the twists and turns.

The character development was excellent. You really feel like you get to know the Admiral and his trainees.

Jonathan McClain, the narrator was excellent. Adding to both the story and listening experience.

Surprisingly good to the last line

Great narration, no hard sci-fi jargon, well paced story and quality plot twist. It’ll be interesting to see if we get a second book. I would have to pick it up.

Excellent find!

I found this book by accident and I'm glad I did. This was an interesting story more about being team players even though there was a healthy dose of unease flowing between the crew. The narrator was wonderful and kept you engaged.
A worthwhile listen and worth the credit

Satisfied

When i picked this book i did not expected much from it. I got pleasantly surprised, that the story was interesting and immersion. The only complain I can give is that the ending felt a bit forced.

Meh Ok

It was a little boring but held my interest enough to finish. All to find out the hero was Hitler. Narration was very good.
