Publisher's summary

With the lights still out, how far will you go to survive?

When an EMP devastated the nation's power supplies and left the country in ruins, Jack, Wayne, Susan, Emma and Logan all fought to seek shelter in a treacherous first day.

But surviving the first day was just the beginning.

Jack has found his way home. But when tragedy strikes, he is forced on a personal journey across the country to seek new shelter - and face up to the harrowing demons of his past.

Wayne's search for Candice is going nowhere. But when a stunning discovery breathes new life into his journey, he is determined to make one final push through the rapidly collapsing towns and cities. Just how fatal will that decision be?

Susan is trying her best to maintain order at the makeshift hospital. But when chaos takes over, she must embark on a mission to get Tommy to safety. With droves of looters already filling the streets, and fires spiraling out of control, just how far will she go to keep Tommy safe?

Sounds like an Artificial (semi-intelligent) robot wrote it.

The storyline is okay, but it was a hard listen due to either bad narration or clumsy writing.

mediocre writing

high school level story telling. Weak plot lines. Sub par narrator. You can't really differentiate between characters all that well.

So much passing out

don't think I've listened or read a book where characters passed out so much. so often in such a short amount of time. Logan seemed to be passed out 90% of the book.

Disappointing, Repetitive,

First nook was awesome, this one, Not so much. It states the same stuff over and over.Oh if we don’t get food and water!, next group of people in story, oh if we don’t get food and water. Also, the narrator doesn’t quite get the English accent when he says “bloke”
It just goes round and round in circles, its a shame as it had potential and i like the narrators voice, but ild be weary to take a chance on spending another $15, or credit for the next book, especially since this one was for what? 7 hours

Well Defined theme: The way to survive is to pull together

Many post-apocalptic stories are about saving the world and rebuilding society. This one is different: it’s about how people can redeem themselves by saving each other. The plot, while typically a series of quests, is very tightly woven. There is almost too much suspense for me, but not typically from physical action. It is the the internal, emotional drawing out in every scene that makes this a real page turner. If you don’t like a world without moral absolutes, this is a story of how imperfect people find the necessary absolutes to start the world all over again.

Not Very Good

First He goes to a party and kiss a girl. Then he meets a strange girl and takes her to go find the ex girlfriend you said you love. Why would any girl take you back if she sees you showing up with a girl?

listened for free and still feel ripped off

Each book gets worse. The series was highly recommended on a few sites. I'm never trusting their recommendations again.
