About this listen

When the lights go out, how far will you go to survive?

When an EMP devastates the nation's power supply, it doesn't take long for society to spiral out of control. There is no government to guide people. There is no power and no order. Only chaos and panic.

In the immediate aftermath of the devastation, five survivors-a self-sufficient survivalist, a university student, a plane crash survivor, a young girl, and an escaped prisoner-all face a dangerous, treacherous journey towards safety.

But as the day goes on and tensions reach breaking point, our survivors soon realize this solar event is far more dangerous than they could ever have imagined...

Lights Out is the first book in the Surviving the EMP post apocalyptic series chronicling five very different survivors and the way they handle disaster. If you enjoy stories of ordinary people thrown into devastating new circumstances, you'll love Lights Out.

I enjoyed the story. It could have moved a bit faster at times, but it was still good.

Good story for a free book

Not a bad story, but nothing fresh or original. A little unbelievable in some areas and a little “poly-annish” in others. It was free so I won’t knock it too much, but I wouldn’t recommend anyone rush out to grab this book.

This book had potential but it was difficult listening to the monotone performance. As the story progresses, every character seems to be resolving any character defect they have in less than 24 hours. The plot seems forced and far fetched for the first 24 hours of an EMP.

Mediocre

It was pretty good for a free book, just wish it was longer or a part 2!

Pretty good for a free book!

Quick read. Good story for an introduction to the series and characters. I would recommend.

I think people are being overly critical. The story line was good and I will def read the other books in the series.

I thought it was a pretty good book.

This book started slow. It took me a while to get into it. I loved the character and the direction of the plots. It was like no other. I hope more books of this genre adopt the character's point of view. I already purchased the second and will read it as soon as possible. I needed this book. I don't usually write reviews, but this book earned it, and I wanted to write it. The performance was not as good as the book because, in my opinion, the person reading didn't understand the culture the book was set in.

I didn't think I would like it, but I loved it.

For a free book, not bad. May purchase the rest of the series if nothing else comes along. Good character development.

Not bad a start to a series

Ending was abrupt and wasn’t really an end. The story was good so far. The story takes place in England and the American narrator threw me a bit at times. Wonder how the whole story ends…..

Good story
