Publisher's summary

One of the most stunning abilities ever seen...has just been born into the eyes of a six-year-old girl. For one very special reason.

Something is about to happen. Something unstoppable, and something terrible. An event that can do more than just change human history.

But mankind has a secret.

A little girl named Sarah. Afraid and alone, and under the care of an inexperienced social worker. A young woman about to discover that she will do anything to keep Sarah alive.

Because there is much more to Sarah than meets the eye.

Note to listener: Similar to books by Dan Brown and James Rollins, this story contains a strong religious undertone.

Summer fun

This was a fun book. I loved the Breakthrough series so snatched this. I like the author's style and this book like his others was fun. While it got a little bogged down at the end I still enjoyed it a lot. Look forward to more from this author. He has quite an imagination!

not good not bad

The first half of the book I enjoyed. At around midpoint, the story became less engaging, more predictable, and unrealistic. The character Christine did me in. I was so frustrated with her character. She is the old damsel in distress yet expected to be heroic. She's always hysterical, extremely emotional and buries her head in the male characters to cry so often. It's a terrible interpretation of a woman, so it made sense to find a man wrote it. She is always crying, freaking out, hysterical, and always needs a male character to protect her and rescue her. This killed the narrative for me.

Narrator is fanaminal

The narrator Julia Whelan characters are varied and clear. Her female, male, and child voices are ALL FANAMINAL. Grumley's story is interesting and isn't the run of the mill and worth the credit or $.

Exciting and also heartfelt!

Intensely unpredictable story of light against darkness, with gentle moments and a warm and triumphant ending. Great book!

Just didn't care for the "God" stuff

Almost too many characters to follow easily especially in the beginning. was intrigued by the mystery but turned off a little by the religious / spiritual side of the story. spoiler alert: the world is going downhill because God is too busy. that's sort of sums it up for me.

Unusual...

A very different kind of book for which I have very mixed feelings. It is not your typical suspense/thriller type novel, nor is it a mystery. It doesn’t really fall into the category of supernatural. Yet, it has elements of all of these. It is a good story, well written and plotted, but it has left me pondering what it all means. This is a book I will have to revisit again at a later date to see if things come clearer to me. 4 stars.
