About this listen

Two weeks after his 18th birthday, everything changes for Evan Nash. When he injures his head after being run down on his bicycle, he begins having strange, harrowing visions whenever he tries to sleep. He turns to psychiatrist Shannon Mayer for help. Mayer has troubles of her own: her daughter has been kidnapped, and she's desperate for answers. Though she's at first skeptical of Evan's accounts, it quickly becomes clear that his mysterious ailment may be the key to finding her child. Soon Evan's visions prove essential to the case but at a terrible cost. Evan and Shannon face an agonizing decision: Should he risk himself to save the girl?

this episodic story left me wanting loose ends tied up. Not sure if it was intended as semi fantasy or sci fi . too much was left unexplained. Characters battles with weak back stories. Not a book to recommend to others. Narration was good within the limits imposed by the author.

This was my first time to read Michael Grumley, and I was not disappointed. His characters were well developed and I felt as if I knew them personally. It was easy to relate to Dr. Shannon Mayer as a mother grieving over the unresolved kidnapping of her young daughter, Elle. I could "feel" her pain and frustration as she tried to hold her life together. As a psychiatrist, she meets Evan Nash, an awkward, picked on teenager who suffers from terrifying dreams after a head injury. These dreams are becoming more frequent and more terrifying, to the point that Evan's body physically reacts so violently during them that he is risking death if they cannot be resolved. It is during one of these "dreams" that Dr. Mayer realizes that what Evan is experiencing is visions rather than dreams. He can see things that are happening. Together they embark on a path to use Evan's powers to find Elle, if that can be done without killing Evan.

To short, but otherwise enjoyable. certainly not what I was expecting. Narrator did a good job. Apparently this will be a series, I look forward to reading the continuing story.

I really really really enjoyed this book. I wasn't sure about the narrator at first but I liked it.

The storyline was engaging enough that I was surprised when it was over. I didn't realize I had been listening for that long! The narration was also very well done. Worth the money.

Hats off to the person who write this for trying to breathe life into this. This was one of the most boring books I've ever had the displeasure to. It was supposed to be shocking and crazy it was extremely boring. I do not recommend. I would not be shocked that someone had a sandwich at lunch time. Why would they use that as an example of something shocking that no one would know?. It was so poorly written.

This was not the type of book I normally read or listen to, but I am glad I did. Interesting story . I listen to books when in my car to avoid road rage, and it I found it hard to stop listening when I got to my destinations.

I especially enjoyed listening to this book. It was the first time I used my kindle to listen to a book. Very relaxing read between the dramatic presentations as the plot unfolded.

Exciting
