Editorial reviews

When Alison Kerby bought a huge Victorian house in the New Jersey town of Harbor Haven, she didn't know that it already contained two permanent residents: eccentric ghosts named Paul and Maxie. So Alison only had one choice. She turned the house into a haunted bed and breakfast for senior citizens looking for a "unique vacation experience". In this second Haunted Guesthouse Mystery, E. J. Copperman's witty and accessible heroine helps solve a murder case - with the help of her paranormal colleagues.

Amanda Ronconi is an experienced comedic performer, and this audiobook is right up her alley. The dialogue, ghostly hijinks, and offbeat escapades are all enhanced by her excellent pacing and varied voices.

Great follow up

I really enjoyed this book. The characters are very realistic and funny. I received many strange looks for laughing out loud. I'm glad I discovered this series.

Fun Audiobook

I enjoyed this audiobook very much. Story has many twists and turns. I still find the narrator's voice a little grating at times but over all this is a fun audiobook.

Very clever series but a bit long!

I really like this series. The characters are great, the stories clever and the narrator is terrific! The books a just a bit long. It seems as though some scenes are meant as filler. Perhaps they just need a good editor to tighten them up but I still love the stories.

I loved this book! Great "read!"

Would you consider the audio edition of An Uninvited Ghost to be better than the print version?

Of course! You can't beat the narration version.

Who was your favorite character and why?

I always like Maxi, but Scott MacFarlane's character was endearing!

What about Amanda Ronconi’s performance did you like?

Her ability to make the characters come to life, especially her references to Maxi's wardrobe and mannerisms. It makes the characters very real.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Yes, when Scott realized he could finally see!

Any additional comments?

Keep 'em coming! I love the "guest house" series!

<3 ed this series

I love this series and was always looking forward to the next one. Tthere are a few spots where a scene from the previous book is given in the current story line; I was ok with this. I did read the series from beginning to end over a couple weeks (I enjoyed it that much).
The series is unique without being too over paranormal.

I have little patience for misinformation

If you are going to use a disease as one of your plot points- do enough research so that you get it it right. High doses of insulin do not cause diabetic coma- they cause hypoglycemia, which is the opposite of diabetic coma. We suspend our disbelief for the story’s ghost premise, but please get the other details correct. I’m glad the book was included in my Audible membership, because I’d have returned this one otherwise.

No, this is the first. Cannot wait to get to the other books.

This book reminded me of the Kirbys on the old TV program " Topper" with Leo G. Carroll. He had to ghosts living with him called the Kirbys and they had a dog. Liked that program also.

Cozy murder mystery.

When a recently divorced mother of one renovates an old home into a bed and breakfast, she may have bitten off a little more than she can chew. During construction she and her daughter start to experience spectral sightings and by the time of completion they have accepted and welcomed their friendly, paranormal inhabitants. While still trying to embrace that her first tenants are permanent and ghostly, there is an unexplainable murder that opens the floodgates for the press and local police of this small town.

I was wavering between a three and four star rating but about half way through the pace picked up and the characters became endearing. I think this is a fun, light, cozy series that according to the reviewers just gets better and better. As always, Amanda Rinconi does an exceptional job narrating.
