I didn’t have much in terms of expectations for this book: not that it didn’t look good, but I believe I am far from the intended target audience. Needless to say, the book was surprisingly heartfelt and well-thought!

I kinda skimmed the blurb when I bought the book, so I didn’t realize the story’s implied plot based on the setting until way later than I should have. That aside, I found myself listening in a relatively short period of time compared to other books I’ve bought. The simple prose and explorative character design did its job, and I never found myself questioning the nitty gritty fantasy stuff that I usually do.

Nicholas wrote a pleasantly simple story that I was able to relax and listen to without worrying about plot holes or questioning narrative decisions. I think the inherent loosening of my subconscious writer’s criticism says enough to me about how well this book was written. I highly recommend it!

A Surprisingly Complete and Comprehensive Story.
