About this listen

Even before Myristal went out, before the battle of the Heavens and the Earth broke out, before the Black General was imprisoned on the Mountain of Skulls, a wizard had wandered the endless expanses of the Nameless World in search of his past and his future.

This is the legend of Ash, the Master of a Thousand Words, the Bloody General. What's true and what is fiction is up to you to decide. But this is how his story was told to young children, so that they wouldn't be afraid and have nightmares, back when the legends of the old world were still remembered.

A new realm of D&D storytelling

Klevansky grabs your mind and takes you through new concepts of D&D realm. I thought there could have been more sub character development but the next. Books could provide

Not bad

Despite some annoyances with the narrator's delivery, I found the story engaging and will continue to follow the series.

Stick with it. This story ROCKS.

I am in love with this book. This is very surprising to me because I almost put it aside. I'm no wimp. I love me some raping and pillaging and death...but there was a lot of raping and pillaging that had to be endured- before *****the light***** and in reality, the author does a wonderful job at switching characters, or past to present episodes, or whatever, just before you almost had enough of the raping and pillaging. But, it was necessary. Because if we hadn't gone on that journey with Ash, we wouldn't understand him. This is an awesome story and I am so happy to have found a series with a bunch of books to go....let's hope they're all this good because I'm committed now.

A great addition to this series.

I really enjoyed this book, it'll be interesting to see how Ash comes into the future books. I really thought Ash was well written, not just a murder hobo.

Moments of brilliance but there were also moments of complete boredom. All in all he made want to listen to the next book

Really good story

This was a good story. I liked the back and forth between the storyline. I do like the backside of Adh though I wish we known a little more of who his parents were and why he was raised so roughly. I didn't grasp it.

fun side story

Its a good adventure with some fun story telling and an amusing main character, it fills in a few details about the universe as a whole and adds to it as well, It also raises a few questions.

you will probably want to read this after at least book 5 since that is where the links start to appear in the main series.
