About this listen

Laser-sharp zingers and out-of-this-world puns pile up at an astronomical pace in this zero gravitas sci-fi spoof from the author of Witches Be Crazy.

Never meddle with unidentified spying objects...

The year is: The Future. Mars and Earth are like that divorced couple who don’t exactly like each other but have at least stopped fighting in public. Floating somewhere in between them, amid all the garbage and Gene Roddenberry’s ashes, a transport vessel called the SS Jefferson is homeward bound. Its crew might have even made it on time for once, too...

Captain Cox is no stranger to encountering the odd pickle in space, but when a tantalizingly derelict ship crosses paths with the Jefferson, he unwittingly parks in the middle of a NASA-ty interplanetary squabble. Faced with a marauding Martian and a squad of snobby secret agents, Cox and crew embark on a mad scramble across the solar system, to save themselves from either murder-via-space rifle of imprisonment in the notorious Guantanamo Docking Bay. Maybe they’ll also get around to dealing with the biological weapon that accidentally wound up in their fridge, too.

Join Logan J. Hunder (Witches be Crazy) in this riotously funny send-up of spaceships and space exploration. Discover adventure, love, loss, gain, losing what was gained, gaining some of it back, and all the different ways the Outer Space Treaty can be violated.

Seriously, Hollywood...could you get on that? This was a nice bit of lighthearted distraction from the world today. Definitely putting this one on the "Books to be Read Again" list.

They Need To Make a Movie From This Book

Great book. funny and clever. biggest treat is that Christopher Lane narration. I could listen to him reading horror or a comedy and the book would be a bonus star or 2. easily worth the price. enjoy!

Christopher Lane narration is always wonderful

“Astro-Nuts” was a overall good book, (but as I stated in the title of this review it wasn’t nearly as good as “Witches be Crazy”). It was a fun lighthearted sci-fi novel. It was a very funny book and I really enjoyed the way Logan J Hunder writes. The plot line was not great at all, there was even a middle section that drags on over several chapters. That part was somewhat difficult to get through, but push through it and you can enjoy the book as a whole and the wittyness that comes along with it. I would still recommend this book if you like Logan J Hunder as a writer or if you like goofy/weird sci-fi books, but other than that I don’t think I would go out of my way to recommend it to everybody. This is the reason as to why I gave it a 3 star rating. Happy Listening/Reading!

Not as good as “Witches be Crazy”, but still good.

So to start off: Yes, the main protag is very annoying. Like super positive and I can't even call him naïve. But it almost really helped as the story went along. I also didn't mind the politics at the beginning because again, PART OF THE STORY!

It was very well written, had some great jokes and references, and everything you were told was summed up by the end. Just like Witches be Crazy, I didn't want it to end. The characters were relatable. And they even grew! There was an actual growth arc! You learned so much about every character that they did feel real.

The narrator also did a fantastic job. Easy to hear and the characters were distinctive in nature so you didn't get lost.

Very Hilarous

Loved the Snarkiness

An enjoyable easy to read irreverent space story. Not the greatest thing I've ever read but one of those books I'll end up reading multiple times.

Very fun

Had a witty, sarcastic humor. Was not stupid funny. And the humour ran throughout the book. Narrator did a good job with different voices. The.plot was pretty good. I really enjoyed the characteristics of each character.

Funny. Good Plot.

Narrator was so brilliant and carried many different voices that it was easy to differentiate between characters in this off the wall space jaunt. It was like listening to the Rocky Bullwinkle show. This book is definitely one I keep on my shelf whenever I need a chuckle.

Best audio book I ever heard!
