Levin Crowdley is engaged to the man of her dreams, or so she thought. That is, until a stranger appears on her doorstep to suggest Alec, her adoring fiancé, is anything but.
No one has ever left Alec. More precisely; no one has ever left Alec and lived to tell about it.
Levin's life is now about survival, a game of cat and mouse as Alec pursues her.
And the second he catches her, he’s never letting go. ’Til death do them part.

So, this was a great psychological thriller about an obsessed ex. It reminded me of that movie Single White Female but with roles reversed and a lot more cat and mouse action. The narration is done well but I think it would have been a bit more impactful if it was a narrated by a female. If you want a well done thriller, this would still be a good choice.

However, I found it is not for me. I liked the description and I knew there was going to be profanity but I found it hard to listen too.
This is a personal opinion and others might disagree with me and love it. There is nothing wrong with the plot, it is just not for me.
If you don't mind significant amount of profanity and love thrillers then this book is for you.

I was taken with this book right from the beginning. I was rooting and empathizing with Levin as she tried to get away from Alex. I read several other reviewers indicate that this story did not ring true -- but I could not disagree more. There are many men like Alex who are extremely possessive and dictate how their spouse/GF will behave/will dress/speak, etc. And like Alex, these men can react violently when their spouse/GF tries to end their relationship. You just have to watch the news or read the newspaper to see evidence of this behavior. Having said that, Alex was an over-the-top character but I enjoyed that aspect of unpredictability.
I thought it was great that this book is written with Levin's and Alex's point of view alternating chapters. This is a very emotionally driven drama between Alex and Levin. The only thing that I thought distracted from that drama was Levin's possible romance with another character. I also felt the ending was a bit rushed.
The narrator, Wally Schrass, did a great job as Alex -- a very narcissitic character. A few times, the narrator repeated phrases or sentences which should have been edited out in quality control.

The thriller aspect was VERY amateur and the love aspect was juvenile. The love story was laughable. The two character relationships were not developed enough to make the outcome believable.
The story was narrated by one voice which was a guy even though the story talks in first person going back and forth between two characters. The story would have been a lot better if the narrators were male and female. Hearing a man read for a women in first person was hard. It made it difficult to get into the characters.
Lastly, the story ends abruptly leaving multiple loose threads which annoyed me as a listener. If you are going to write mysteries, please give us answers that make sense in the end. Overall, the author has potential but needs to work more on character development and plot.
