About this listen

What does the tragic death of a 27-year-old Portland beauty have to do with a suburban mother in Houston?

Everything.

Only Meghan Bishop doesn't know it yet.

When the married mother stumbles upon evidence suggesting someone close to her may have ties to the heinous crime the nation can't stop talking about, she's forced to dive headfirst into an ocean of secrets she never knew existed.

Unraveling her life one startling piece at a time, Meghan realizes she believed all the pretty lies she'd been told.

And the truth? It's uglier than she ever could have imagined.

Good twists

I liked it. Good twists and concise. The narrator should learn how to pronounce Oregon... it's not Oregone... it's "Orygun".

I’m giving it a 5 star review

Let’s be real, domestic psych thrillers, share similar storylines and this one isn’t too far off from the others; however, this story incorporate unique elements that others don’t have. The characters’ personalities and reactions are somewhat unexpected, which leaves you wondering who the perpetrator really is. Just when you think you have it figured out another personality quirk makes you stop and reevaluate all the possible motives of all the characters involved in the murder. It kept me guessing until nearly the end! I don’t want to give it away, but this one would have been a fun one for book club convo!
I will be checking out more titles by this author and I enjoyed the performance as well!

Male narrator sounds the same

Guy speaking needs to work on changing his voice to differentiate the characters because I was confused most of the time

Wow!

This was a great Audible book. It kept me guessing and guessing. I couldn’t stop listening today; and got plenty done. I am anxious to start another book by this talented author. Narration was perfect as well.

Ok plot, unimpressive writing

I don’t often write negative reviews because if the book is that bad, I just stop reading. The plot kept me engaged despite the fake Texan accents, and annoying quality of narration. I was so bored I skimmed the last two chapters, listening just enough to be relieved when the story ended. If the writing had been better, plot twists would have been more effective. The ending seemed contrived as if the author hadn’t had a plan until the end. It fell flat.

Great listen

I really enjoyed this and the narrator was fantastic but unless I missed it, they never answered the question about the suicide note. Overall, great lesson

Whatever happened to editors?

Implausible story line, no sympathetic characters, and such poor grammar! The author doesn't know the difference between I/me, lie/lay, and other elementary word usages that a decent editor should have caught and corrected.

Loved this book

I really loved Meghan and her strength to push her anger to the side and still help Talhin. Kept me hooked from start to finish !
