About this listen

Amanda Graham inherited a rundown bed and breakfast, a starving cat, and some dead guy who's buried in her garden!

What should've been a simple remodeling project and a new business in a small Oregon beach town winds up with her uncle named as the number-one murder suspect, a slew of odd neighbors and problematic townspeople, and Amanda wanting to just sit down and eat her weight in chocolate pie.

Sure, she could pack her bags and travel back to LA...or should she dig in, heal from her failed romance, and find a whole new set of friends and adventures in Ravenwood Cove?

And how could a quiet little coastal village have so many secrets?

Enjoyable story...narrator not so much.

Having most recently listened to a Spencer Quinn novel, superbly narrated it may not be fair to review this book. The story was enjoyable, though a largely too typical. The narration was flat and monotonous. The voice sounding far to elderly for the character. I likely will not purchase more stories if narrated by the same individual.

Give it a shot.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

It was not the best but it did have entertaining moments. It is worth checking out when on sale.

Would you be willing to try another book from Carolyn Dean? Why or why not?

I want to listen to the sequel. I did find enjoyment but felt that there could have been much more.

What aspect of Gail Hedrick’s performance would you have changed?

I found Gail's voice alright. It can be monotone at points and almost sounding as if she is fatigued.

Did Bed, Breakfast, and Bones inspire you to do anything?

A sweet and easy mystery

I enjoyed this book so much! It has a likable heroine, a manly hero, interesting peripheral characters and a lovely beach town setting. There was no vulgar language, gory violence or sex scenes. It was just a sweet, well-written story that had me daydreaming about living on the Oregon coast. Would love to see this as a Hallmark or Lifetime movie!

Good if you like Cozy Mysteries

‘Bed, Breakfast & Bones’ is a nice little cozy mystery. The writing was a bit plain, but the characters were fun and interesting and I liked the plot. The who-dun-it kept me guessing the whole time. Overall it’s a nice little book if this is your genre.

The narrator was good, not great and not bad.

Excellent!! My first audio book.

I loved how it went together and am anxious to hear about the town, the Inn, and all of the neighbors.

great story.

I loved the story but the narrator's voice was too saccharin. The constant cheerfulness would be better in a child's book.
